Fangbanger must be a huge dud, so they're looking for something to blame for their lack of creativity.

20k people on THJ is probably more than Daybreak has in subs.

I guess they didnt realize the "donation" WoW servers are all hosted overseas.

Fangbreaker aside this shouldn't be a shock, dont try to make money on shit not owned by you lol.

edit. Oh shit our forum is referenced lol

Surprised it took them this long. Can't get too popular when you are using another company's assets and code.

I suspect they'll give Quarm the ok like Daybreak did with P99. THJ is going to be RIP.

Hmm I never played either. I assume both just had "if you want to donate to help keep up maintenance" type thing. Was THJ actually selling stuff? Aka making money off code they didn't own?

If you donated you got in game currency that could be used for glam gambling or buying huge bags.

They had a currency called echoes of memory(EOM) you could buy. With the EOM, you could buy stuff like a a froglock/trol/ogre/etc illusion clicky. You could only buy them with EOM.

All well. Their own fault really then. The second you try to make a profit off something you don't own, cant expect whoever owns it just to sit around with dick in hand.

As part of City of Heroes: Homecoming’s agreement, they can accept server donations for upkeep and that’s it. They have a donation cap and you get no ingame benefits

Donations for loot sounds like asking for trouble

If there's a market for this stuff and Daybreak is unwilling or unable to develop this sort of content, I wonder why they don't just consider some sort of licensing agreement? I can't imagine brand dilution is an issue for a 25 year old game.

I have a hard time believing THJ is cannibalizing non-emulator usage. If their TLP wasn't a bag of dicks, people would be playing it. And if THJ didn't exist it would still be a ghost town.

There's any number of ways they could have done this that wasn't blatantly obvious. Should have been smarter.

The THJ devs are delusional. This is an announcement on their discord:

given the way players behaved on p99, its a shock they havent been sued or considered in breach of some sort of agreement with DBG.

I am guessing P99 staff somehow pays DBG a portion of whatever money they attempt to squeeze from players somehow.

They blame THJ for Fangbreakers launch performance (was it even that poor?). Name FoH specifically. Apparently there are 20 defendants including people who “engage in promotional activities”. Going to be wild if DBG is filing suit against Twitch/YT nerds with 1000 views. Lmaoo.
