id imagine the client side injection mods are the biggest deal (besides the EoM/donations). Those mods may be private github repos and thus links dont exist without access. I imagine that is why secrets is scared too because of the massive client mods PQ does... even the dev of zeal (a client side mod for PQ) has removed his public zeal releases off github.

Thanks for confirming exactly what I said. You admit the system is broken and corrupted, but your only move is to shrug and say "deal with it." That’s not insight, that’s just giving up and calling it wisdom. We all know THJ is legally vulnerable. Nobody’s arguing otherwise. The difference is some of us still care about what EQ was meant to be, while you’re content to cheer on the slow corporate gutting of something people actually loved.
And to everyone mocking the idea of "soul," thanks for showing exactly why gaming keeps getting worse. You act like cynicism makes you smart and caring makes you cringe. But it was soul that built Norrath in the first place, not legal paperwork and shareholder slides. Without it, you don’t have a living world, you just have a product to be milked and discarded, which is exactly what you have in Darkpaw’s Everquest now.
This is the same mentality that’s taken over the official forums too. They’re full of people who’ve totally internalized "it’s a business™" as if that somehow excuses every bad decision. They tell themselves they have to support every bit of mismanagement because anything that keeps the spice flowing must be defended at all costs. It’s just empty corporate loyalty dressed up as pragmatism.
By the way, besides Furor’s Plane of Time rant, remind me what exactly FOH forums have actually contributed to the fantasy MMORPG genre? Because from here, it looks like all talk and no soul, forever stuck on the sidelines mocking anyone who still cares, while watching other people build worlds. Let’s not forget this forum’s habit of idolizing "celebs" like Curt Schilling and ex-EQ devs, turning them into rockstars while contributing nothing meaningful themselves. The real magic has always come from passionate players and actual builders, like the EQEmu community and private server devs, not forum groupies worshipping personalities.
And to you specifically, enjoy using this lawsuit as your big chance to grandstand for forum clout and score cheap points with the cynics. It’s easy to act like the smartest guy in the room when all you do is repeat legal footnotes and mock the people who actually gave a damn.
Enjoy patting yourselves on the back for "understanding reality" while you fight over deck chairs on the Titanic that is modern EverQuest. Sad that the THJ lawsuit is the only newsworthy thing to happen to the EQ franchise in years. That alone should tell you everything.

It's not just that; our whole society has ground to a halt creatively across multiple/all mediums over the last decade. Political correctness/wokeism//cancel culture/metoo/cultural marxism/Great Leap Forward/corporatism/ideation atomization/whatever your favorite bugbear is, we have stopped producing good original music/plays/TV/movies/ideas, for the most part. WE across almost all endeavors have stagnated, and although some of that shows signs of changing and hopefully our "lost decade" is coming to an end, Magic 8-ball says "Ask again later".
