Keep up man. Daybreak is currently arguing that stuff like that would be covered in the scope of the injunction.

That sucks for Daybreak though, couldn't have happened to a nicer company.

Holly didn't learn anything she didn't care about gameplay then and doesn't care about gameplay now. What she cared about was maximizing short term profits and she felt enough people were complaining that listening would increase short term profits, but she ALSO made sure EXP go turned down when Phinny came out, because she likely thought that would increase XP pot sales. Listening wasn't about improving gameplay it was about improving profits.

It's a long standing theme in the gaming industry, some are Gameplay first and profits second and some only care about profits. Holly was in the second camp. Being in the first camp is what i mean by good in this context. There were people that worked on EQ that at the start that were definitely good, Brad was definitely good. If you watch EverCracked or any of the old documentries about EQ Brad was all about making the game more immersive and social. While someone like Smedley was all about how can we get these people to pay us monthly.

Holly listened to feedback and made a popular tlp that went contrary to her personal opinions as a result. This is what any sane person should want. Put your ego and feelings aside and put out quality.

If she were an idealist or a purist who put her passion before the job, you would have probably gotten something with abysmal xp and motm like phinny but instead of instances, you'd have gotten more elitism like raid mobs ejecting the zone when they spawn and logging into a zone with a raid mob up puts you at bind. Stuff I'd have liked at the time, I tended to agree with holly then, but woulda been awful for the community.

As for slow xp, this is a natural response to a wider game. It doesn't have to be for pot sales, although once that was discovered I'm sure it became a standard for daybreak. Having pickzones giving more room to level and aocs giving more raid loot means content will be consumed considerably faster, so you throttle down the xp progress to try to compensate.

The reddit mod is an idiot, but the guys shutting down emu servers are finally waking up to how copyright works. Good for them. Doing that shit without an explicit license was always a gaping liability. Get permission first if you are going to do that stuff. In writing.

My guy this is part of the court order and Daybreak is asking them to do it in the court docs.

Daybreak is literally screenshooting randoms(hell maybe even daybreak sockpuppet accounts) on Reddit and crying to the Judge they THJ is trying to move to Russia or China ect.
