I’m too old for this shit but had to do it and play before going to bed. It’s 2am now and only did the the first delivery. 🚚

The game is gorgeous, probably best looking PS5 game.

They change the controls I think, gotta get used to new ones.

I am hooked on the traversal/deliveries already, not the story though yet it’s too normal…where’s the weird.

Going to bed and looking forward to playing again.

Yeah, also showcases the engine. Rock solid 30/60fps on both systems, just better resolution on the Pro as expected.

I don't have a pro (they're over $1000 in Norway), so I was skeptical about getting it for the base edition, but looking at that review I think I might pick it up. Started a new run of the Directors cut for the PC version, but.... might double dip for this one too. Get the eventual PC release later. I kind of want to get in on it the start due to all the neat "multiplayer" aspects of it. I remember when I first played it on the PS5, once you connected areas you often saw paths and such all over where the game had registered where many had walked. I haven't really seen any of those replaying it now on PC. Kind of removes the "I am alone, but I am not really alone" feeling that was really cool. Got to the second area, and it's just a bunch of unfinished base structures everywhere that need thousands of materials each. Which... well, there are lots of materials in the camps. So I stole a car, and used that to run over an entire camp, accidentally killing a few people, and now the game won't let me back into the main base before I get rid of the corpses that are ticking down to become nukes so to speak. I didn't know that was a thing. I never killed anyone on the PS5...

Probably not the intended solution but parking a truck full of corpses in the tar lake shallows used to count as disposal. Easier and faster than incinerating them one at a time. Once you leave the truck the cargo sinking mechanic should kick in and eat the truck/corpses.

I also don't think corpses cause nukes. That's reserved for a BT eating a live human. Corpse necro just makes more BTs.

Text for lost packages and in menu descriptions is tiny, I’m old and never had 20/20 to begin with. Little shit like annoys the fuck out of me.
The good news about that is that it looks like the game is being designed with pc users in mind but us people without 120inch tv’s can go fuck ourselves.

only like 13 feet into the game and I am already complaining. Not a good sign.
Game looks fantastic though even on a ps5 pleb on performance mode.

Doing the training missions at the first hideout and combat feels much smoother. Between the combat style and the music being used it feels very Metal Gear Solid’ish.

Think the problem with the text is that they forgot to increase the scale of it to coincide with the increased resolution, saw that in some older games that got a “next gen” update.

Everything, so far, feels a little smoother and more polished.
Loving it.

Weather is cool and I couldn’t help chanting “Deep hurting!” during the first storm you hit 3.2 minutes into the game. It’s an MST3k reference so don’t worry if you don’t get it, but if you do…

Really looking forward to unrecoverably and pointlessly losing dozens of hours of my life to this game.

Not going to keep posting my exploits, just wanted to say that in spite of my earlier complaint the game feels very very good.

Ok about 12 hours in, and I’m hooked for the most part. There is a lot more combat than the first one which takes away from the chill aspect that I liked so much in the first one.

Aside from that I’m having a blast, especially since I started getting cool tools that make deliveries so much easier. I also opened the side quests so I can pause the main story and start getting 5 stars with everyone.

How's the soundtrack? Typically I don't give a shit in games but for some reason the Low Roar stuff in the first one matched scenes completely spot on. As did the rest. It was really, really well put together.

Only a couple hours in but it’s decent. I agree DS1’s soundtrack was fantastic, this one isn’t yet blowing my porter boots off yet.

damnit so I wasted money on the first one, couldn’t get into its slow pace. About to get suckered in again, is this one not worth getting if I didn’t like the first one? Also will it make any sense if didn’t finish first game? To the extent that a kojima game can make sense
