Isn't there a PLS version of them on monoprice or amazon ? Having the option of a light anti-glare film instead of glossy is nice, not to mention the possibility to overclock it to 120hz.

Are computers still as easy to build? If anything, they're probably easier, no? Ahhh I'll figure it out.

While I love mine, understand that getting a 2560x1440 monitor will require a much more powerful video card to run the same quality settings.

Joe, not sure if you checked the Shit I Just Bought thread, but I just purchased that exact monitor on Amazon. Granted the results can vary a bit from monitor to monitor and you might see edge-light bleed or dead pixels, but the one I got is completely badass. Well worth it.

What gfx card do you use with it? Can I play more than minesweeper with my ancient gtx560ti on a monitor like that?

Amazon.com: BenQ XL2420TE 144Hz, 1ms High Performance 24-Inch Professional Gaming Monitor: Computers Accessories

I really like this monitor. It's amazing for FPS games. Getting the color correct was very hard, and it does have some backlight bleed along the bottom edge. But the complete lack of flicker is amazing, and the latency literally cannot be beat.
Thanks for the advice, really thinking about pulling the trigger on this. What did it take to calibrate the colors?

I don't really need to upgrade my computer at all, but I've realized that my massive Antec 1200 case with 6 hard drives in it is a waste of space and power (and heats my entire apartment just fine, thanks!) now that I have a sweet NAS setup going. I don't want to just move my old hardware over to a new case though, because why not build a newer computer, right? And since I have an Intel NUC as my HTPC, I've realized just how small an effective computer really can be.

What I'm looking for is the smallest case and motherboard that could still accept something like a GTX-660 or so, with appropriate power supply, and then just a SSD, standard HD, and MAYBE a bluray player, but I don't even really need that. It just seems like everything I look at would be limited on the size of the graphic card and/or power supply, so I'm at least back to something like an Antec 300 in size. Am I missing anything? All of the "modern" graphics cards are still pretty huge right? I found something like this,Newegg.com - ASUS GTX670-DCMOC-2GD5 GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support Mini Small Form Factor Game Video Cardbut I only have the (pretty positive) reviews to go off of. And that's a little more than I was looking to spend on a card right at this moment.

Anyone have any ideas or personal experience with something like this?

Don't skimp on your video card for case size.

I've thought about a mini case but then I ask myself what's the point. It's still going to take up almost the same foot print just be not as tall and less versatile. The only reason would be for aesthetics and I don't mind my mid-tower near my desk.

Microcenter has the i7-4770k for $200 right now. That is a pretty amazing price for that proc.
