New builds in a O11D and it was amazing and easy. Top mount 360 rad, and looks amazing!

What's the shortest tower case that fits a regular ATX motherboard that isn't a piece of shit?

it'd be some monstrosity with the powersupply to the side
Doesn't have to be that extreme, the Meshify C is 17.83" which would fit, but yeah, I was thinking something with an unusual power supply placement that could be shorter.

Also looking for something with a power button on the front rather than on top.

Could always do something like this, although I think this one is ugly as fuck

That one is huge.

I have one. It isn't pretty, but...it is a computer case. Easy as hell to work on. Side panels come off, easy access to everything. I put big Noctua fans so it is quiet and cool. 2 drive bays great for spindle drive back ups. Pull em out a little when done so don't have to listen to drives spinning.

Needs to go on a shelf that's <20 inches from the ceiling, above my TV, and it needs to use one of my motherboards I already own.
o11 mini air is not that tall idt - could be wrong but its not a tall case but not "mini" either

1-year update on my CyberpowerPC I bought last Black Friday (build from scratch too much hassle). First time I've ever went all AMD and very happy. Runs cool and quiet. Super clean wiring for only a mid-tower case ... it looks nearly empty through the glass. Only thing I added was an adjustable GPU support bar.

Ryzen 5-5600X and RX-6800 are both in the top 8 on Tom's Hardware GPU and CPU charts and run lower watts than cards anywhere near them in performance. Flawless FPS on every game on ultra, though still running 2560*1080 ultrawide. Have yet to upgrade to 1440+.

Got this for around $1800 last CyberMonday with taxes, shipping, and peripherals. Shopping around and prices look *a lot* worse now. ;(

Specs:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7GHZ [4.6GHZ TURBO] 6C/12T 65Watt
  • AMD Radeon RX 6800 16GB GDDR6 (AMD Reference Card) 250Watt
  • Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR4-3000 Memory *2
  • 1TB Samsung 870 QVO-Series SATA-III 6 GB/S SSD
  • ASUS TUF X570-PLUS Gaming WI-FI ATX W/ RGB
  • Realtek LAN 2 PCIE X16 2 PCIE X1 8 SATA3 2 M.2 SATA/PCIE
  • CyberpowerPC DeepCool Castle 120EX ARGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
  • Cooler Master MM710 Honeycomb
  • CyberpowerPC Amethyst 240V Mid Tower (BLACK)
  • 3 X ARGB Retail Case Fan V2 120 MM
  • Apevia 800Watt Gold 80 Plus Power Supply

^ probably not gonna upgrade anytime soon but is there a "weakest link" here?

Nice. I thought about pairing my 5950x with a 6800XT, as they are just so much easier to get, sort of. Would be neat.

Hard drive. Get a 1-2TB NVME gen 4 (or gen3 but prices have come down) drive.

You could upgrade every piece but it is all incremental and depends on what you do. If you run heavy CPU loads than a 5900x or 5950x will be a big bump, but they won't provide much boost for gaming. You could get better RAM - 3600 CL16 or 3200 CL14 and get a 1-5% speed boost. You could get a better AIO (if case fits a larger one) and get better boost OCs on the 5600x. You could obviously go to a 6800xt or 6900xt but at your res it won't matter much. You could even go Nvidia for ray tracing and DLSS. Again, all marginal upgrades.

But the the only upgrade that makes sense is an NVMe drive. Or get a nice monitor that will last several upgrade generations.

I believe AMD is launching Zen 3+ with 3D V-Cache next year on AM4. Something like 10-15% better performance and compatible with AM4.

Got my new build put together tonight, still need to play around with cable management but no issues with power up or installing anything so far.

Damned Noctua cooler is massive.

Get an XPG BLADE pcie4 nvme. 1tb is like $149 and about as fast as it gets.
