On a serious note, the damn 1080s are always sold out. I have all my stuff sitting in a box ready to be put together.

I see a bunch on ebay....Gotta pay a bit more but if you can't wait.

Still waiting for non-FE to propagate. Building a new rig over the next few months and Video Card will be the last thing I get so hopefully by then the supply will even out.

I almost feel like I should sell one of these 1070s - it feels almost like too much... I got the MSI Armor 8G OC x2 (SLI), and holy bajeezus. I was averaging 120 fps at 4k on the benchmark run on GTAV, with only a couple performance settings turned down (like AA) that don't really impact appearances very much. Was running about 45-50 fps on my lone 970 before. It's just beastly - I ran through Heaven and Firestrike Ultra for a while and never went over 75C on either card, and the clock was running at a minimum 1880 hz for the duration (1950 hz for a while at the beginning), while the cards were pretty much completely silent.

I don't even have the new SLI bridges, just an old ribbon bridge.

So back to a question a while ago. I came into some extra cash when working out my budget and getting a raise at work.

For around $500 is there any specific recommend monitors? I currently run 2x 60hz 1920x1080 and looking for a good 144hz/ips/gsync. Anyone with recommendations? I trust you guys more than review sites and review sections of newegg etc.

You are gonna have to come up with a bit more $$$ to tick all those boxes with the current options out there. I am pretty sure these are the only options that you have in the current market.

I wanted the same, but ended up with a TN from DELL. Just got it last week, and seems very nice so far. Did have an IPS previously, but have not seen a drastic difference in color depth.

I have the Dell S2716DG as well. Next to another Dell 27" 1440 IPS, I've got no complaints. Just disable the deep sleep mode, if you get it. It fucks up the wake from sleep.

Are 27" and 2560 x 1440 res monitors the only options? Honestly I'm personally fine being limitted to a 1920x1080 option. maybe even 24". Alternatively, I saw a TN but it had g-sych. If one had too choose for a 144hz monitor. Would a g-synch TN panel or non-gsynch IPS panel be the better way to go?

I made the decision to get a 144hz/1ms/G-Syn/TN because I will do a decent amount of gaming on it with a Nvidia based machine. I was a bit concerned that the color depth of my IPS would be lost, but I really cannot see a difference so far.

these are the settings i use on my 2716DG to eliminate the "blue text" issues from slouching while reading

brightness 35
contrast 60
color custom
97, 97, 96 (no idea why this is set to this)
response time normal
monitor deep sleep disable

also in nvidia control panel, adjust desktop color settings I have it set to
brightness +40%
contrast +37%
gamma +0.81
digital vibrance +50
hue +0
