That's not true 2k tho that's a bit bigger like a doubewide 1080p to borrow trailer park parlance.

I feel like I would want 3840x1080 for double 1080p windows for normal use but it might be decent strictly gaming.

Yeah, for gaming it is excellent. Also, still not bad for work. Certainly better than 1920.

I'm spoiled at work with two 1920*1200s though... but will be nice having only 1 set of monitor cables and speakers built in.

4ms isn't perfect for gaming.

Is response time even still and issue on modern LCDs? I remember like 8 years ago it was.

We develop classrooms full of gaming/training systems at work and have used a dozen+ different LCDs in the past 5 years. TBH I havent seen a single one give any input lag or visual artifact. Its all mid-range consumer stuff, nothing special.

That monitor had pretty terrible ghosting issues (it's VA instead of TN/IPS), that's why you see it at that price.

Best site to check for monitor response time benchmarks is Tftcentral.co.uk The similar Z35 peaks at 51ms response time, which is astoundingly bad for a supposed ''gaming" monitor.

The picture doesn't really show it well, but my desk is actually a good 3-4 feet from that wall behind it (enough room for me to easily walk behind it...ill probably end up putting a fake plant/tree back there or something).

I originally considered going wall mounts and pushing the desk all the way to the wall, but my office is so large (12x14) that it looked awkward having the desk shoved to one side of the room, so I'm more in the center now.

You can tell a little bit better from this pic (good god i need a lot of decorations to fill up the walls, and figure out a way to hide those power cords..thats the only outlet on the back wall of the room)

Ah yeah I get it now. LOL definitely need a decoration or two. Perhaps a black leather couch?

Get a freaking mouse pad! I hate their mantra but I love the mousepads www.pcgamingrace.com have - I have two of them. And they're more like mouse towels with how big they are.

You should get some awesome 80s metal album cover looking posters to spruce up that office.

So I finally took the IPS panel plunge. Bought an Asus VN248H-P for $100 and holy mother of god I feel like my entire gaming life has been a lie. The color difference between it and my old Asus VW246H TN panel is night and day. Colors are much much more vibrant and crisp. I don't think I can ever go back now. Porn is going to look fucking amazing!!!!

Amazon has some great deals for Corsair keyboards, $50 for K65 '13 models, $70 for Strafes and $85 for K70 '16 models. I picked a K65 on a whim, not really needed but looks like a fun toy to play with.

Question for you guys. I have a EK-XLC Predator 360 (incl. QDC) and a EK-FC Titan X Pascal all in one setup. Basically the gpu block runs off of the cpu radiator and it only runs the fans on the radiator based on the cpu only. How can I get the fans on the radiator to both run off the cpu and the gpu. I can plug a wire into the gpu fan slot but have nowhere to plug the other end into the radiator to adjust fan speed.

Uhh your rad pump/fan speeds would need to be based off one or the other, not both.

Enjoying the new monitor. Only negative so far(but kind of expected it) is that 27 inches is defiantly pushing the limits of 1080 resolution in terms of ppi. Not bad at all if Im leaning back but if Im closer the pixelation becomes fairly noticeable.

Can really tell the difference in going 60hz to 75hz. Even if its just 15hz difference just feels much smoother. That and the bigger screen just makes everything feel more immersive.

Just got an ASUS 1060 card and a Samsung 34" 21:9 monitor. Feels good.

That 1060 may be a bit underpowered if the screen is 3440*1440 eh.

Running recent games on a 34" LG 60Hz IPN in 3440*1440 with a 1070, I rarely get 60fps.

Well, that's why I have a second 1070 coming in the mail.

I don't plan on running anything other than movies in full screen, and the newest game I play is D3/WOW. Newest. Only. Whatever. I also have my vertical at 1080. 1440 is too small for my eyes.
