holy shit newegg sucks, they fucking forgot to put my ram on the truck its coming from cali to CT so thats across fucking country to begin with, not gonna see it for about 9 days, i fought with them for a day and a half telling them something was wrong, it was sitting there fuck newegg.

Sucks, i saw some ram deals on slickdeals about 30 min ago in popular deals. Maybe you could get something else faster and return the shit to newegg when you get it.

Yep, same one. I ordered about 4pm EST on the 26th. It didn't go OOS for a couple hours after that so I thought I was in the clear. Then they trick me by saying the order is being processed through the warehouse for shipping so I didn't even look for a replacement during black friday / cyber monday...

JoeBoo, what resolution are you pulling those fps from?

Those were just 1920x1200 with all effects maxed. I don't have a 1440p monitor yet, just two 1200p ones

Just wondering, i game on my 1080p tv right now so i should be happy with my single 660ti. Next year when you guys start upgrading ill grab someones used one(s) for sli.

Pinch, that sucks hope.they figure it out and you get it soon, i grabbed mine at 11:50 on the 25th because i read the v.me promo wrong and though i had to buy before the 26th. Now i just hope it gets out.of the ups warehouse and is waiting for me tomorrow.

Big difference, is like 80% more resolution than 1080p. Its not quite as big of a leap as 720p to 1080p, but it's close.

1280x720 = 921,600
1920x1080 = 2,073,600 (+1,152,000 pixels / +125% over 720p)
2560x1440 = 3,686,400 (+1,612,800 pixels / +78% over 1080p) (+300% over 720p)

Another MMO example for the problem of static percent bonuses when X gets big.

I ordered a korean ebay 27" qnix 2710 on sunday night, just checked my ebay and the damn thing is arriving today, 3 days later. Jesus Christ, those guys are freaking fast, hopefully UPS hasn't broken anything. Meanwhile the 3ds xl I ordered on target last thursday is still in the fucking midwest somewhere and isn't due for at least another 4 days, way to go America.

Looking at buying a XFX Core Edition 7870 GHz Edition 2GB instead of a GTX 600 Ti. At the same price, how much faster is the 660 Ti, and does anyone have experience with the heat / noise from the XFX card? I believe it's a reference design with a single fan so I am worried.

While I love my 1440p monitor in windows with the extra resolution, I'm seriously considering going back down to a 1080 Gsync monitor when they start coming out next year. The GPU requirements are pretty steep to run new games on max settings at 1440. My 780 can't keep me above 60FPS at all times in BF4 Ultra. With the map up on the 2nd screen it just makes it worse.

Yeah, I've always felt that a 27" 1080p (or 1920 x 1200) is the sweet spot. My desk and monitor setup results in me sitting fairly far away from my monitor though, so the worse pixel density wouldn't be an issue.

I love my Catleap and in last generation games where I can pull closer to 120 fps @ 1440 while at 120 Hz it is awesome. But like you're saying Zodiac, currently the GPU requirements are creeping back up and just averaging 60 fps on Ultra is getting more complicated. Still glad to have it and the next time these SLI 670s are replaced there'll be a nice bump back up.

A nvidia 770 is a good bang for your buck. You can get 2GB ones for like ~$320 right now. That's going to run just about anything at 60fps at 1080p resolution

hooked up my latest korean 27" 1440p, came in 3 days still blown away by how they are faster than amazon even. overclocked to 90hz right now with zero dead pixels and no light bleeding that I can tell, if its stable at 90hz I'll try 120hz in a day or two. So if anyone is thinking about doing it, I say go for it for $320 its a steal

only bad things: the stand SUCKS, its literally the cheapest piece of shit you can possibly imagine and was a bit scratched up (the panel was fine). I will probably order another same monitor and buy a real dual monitor stand, it has VESA slots on the back so its no problem hooking it up. I'll probably buy something like this

The stand that comes / came with the Catleaps was absolutely garbage too. Before they skyrocketed to like $900 or something last year my plan was to get one of those three monitor arms and start there, but I just kept my other two 24" and never bought it. That's a good idea though to add to my Amazon wishlist for Christmas.

Almost bought the 7870 for $150(After rebate) but heard too much about bad cooling on XFX cards and where I live , in the summer, it can get 75-80 in the house(That's paying 400ish a moth in power bills for the AC to keep it that cool).
