Ok, so this game is still a fucking mess to find out what to buy to "optimize" our time: What should friends and I buy to maximize value if we wanted to come back and play for 50–100 hours? I believe we have Witch Queen and everything before that.
Is Lightfall worth buying at all? What does the Final Shape Annual Pass give that's not already included in the base expansion? Are these dungeon keys something you need on top of owning an expansion? We're most interested in playing the Final Shape expac and whatever this new dungeon is.
Man, what a fucking mess this game is, lol. It's such a shame because the little I've played it was a blast.
Having an entire expansion be themed on someone else's IP feels really odd to me.
Sure, Vampire Survivors has done it (grab the free Romancing Saga pack if you haven't), and Fortnite has a Star Wars season going on right now (including, of all things, Darth Jar Jar - that's a meta joke I can get behind) - but those are seasonal riffs that may not even be accessible after they're over. Whereas this Destiny content will be live forever (or until that planet gets vaulted).
There's a pretty big steam sale right now and thought about picking it up, should I just avoid at this point? I haven't played since Forsaken.
I really enjoyed the game when I was playing it with a few of my buddies, and I think I played it longer than they did. It's an amazing game but like you said the experience of getting back into it is pretty confusing, and the way they've got all their stuff structured is retarded. I just never really knew where to begin getting back into it but I'm tempted to pick up the stuff. No reason to avoid unless you have some kind of emotional baggage with the game. There's an incredible amount of content to play and the people upset with the game mostly have thousands of hours already invested. Just be aware that player power is being reset in a couple of weeks in an expansion power crunch. We started hitting for 999,999 and numbers stopped feeling relevant. They are trying to entice new players with a UI overhaul and more direction in the xpac; right now the new player experience is confusing.
Recommended purchase $20: Destiny 2: The Light & Darkness Collection | PC - Steam | Game Keys
The upcoming expansion would be another $35: Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate | PC - Steam | Game Keys
So you are looking at $55 for all Destiny 2 content minus four dungeons.
I just never really knew where to begin getting back into it but I'm tempted to pick up the stuff.
I just wasn't certain because I know some of you guys have been saying it's a dying game and I don't know anything about whether they're going to stop development on it or what have you, so I guess that's what I was kind of asking about.
Dead game I know.
Whole game, all expacs and episodes, are going to be free for two weeks, July 8-22. Anything earned during open access will be kept.
Next expansion on July 15. Full gear and systems reset.
I've never played this game but it looks interesting.
Not sure I understand: Do I start July 8 or July 15?
