Xbone is screwed too, thanks to their messaging/friendslist service being down...still.

Damn. Glad I didn't stay home today like I planned to do. I realize Columbus Day is a half-assed holiday but I'm still surprised they'd do maintenance on one at all.

To think they wanted us always connected to the internet to use the XB1 - They also touted how it being in the "cloud" made it so much better....So hows that cloud doing now with friendlist down near 24hr.

I'd like to save the checkpoint on some people's ALTS right now, just in case there are enough people later tonight that want to do it.

Anyone up to save it on an alt real quick? Not actually going to complete it yet, we'll do that in ~45 mins

Shit so is Atheon HM going to happen tonight or not? I'm heading home really soon so I'll see if I can get on.

Yea, in about 40 minutes if we get everyone together.

This is why I'm hoping a few people can log on with their other characters real quick. That way, anyone that didn't get into the group or couldn't make it home can still do it later with the savepoint.

TheFourth is going to save the checkpoint on his alt. If anyone else wants to do that, we'll be saving it in about 15 minutes.

SO....Anybody that isn't able to run through in about 30 minutes, hit up TheFourth later on tonight when you get home. Also, Please try to help out other people from the forums if you're able to-save the checkpoint on an alt.

Understand the Columbus day isn't like a real holiday, but so much for having the day off work to game. What's annoying is that I'm still signed into PSN, but it still won't let me into Destiny.

So I'm a level 10 lock, DaScott804. Have sympathy and add me because I don't have a smart phone and bluestacks refuses to install and plugging in a keyboard means swapping my monitor back and forth to type in your names and dammit I'm lazy. Sony headset and new mouse (g502 holy hot) arrived today so I'm all set. (I had no idea how outdated 1600 DPI was, so I expect the XIM experience to improve significantly)

I've read next to nothing about the game so I'm just winging it until the story dries up. Like I thought emblems were some sort of faction modifier (wow tabards) and eventually looked up that they are meaningless. I still don't know what the point of the statless class armor is. I spent time doing some bounties / patrol stuff and rocketed past the story in levels so now I just do them on hard. And some of them have had some pretty insane masses of mobs to deal with that were pretty fun - does the hard switch do anything other than +levels? For weapons I'm just using whatever is better quality at the time.

I notice in PVP that if its gun vs gun, I win that shit easy no matter how high level they are. But random death to supers / nades / rockets is pretty much "eh, what can you do?" Especially if you're capping a flag which screams "blindly bomb the shit out of this location." And I guess shotguns were nerfed into the ground at some point because I recall reading how great they are and they appear to be absolutely worthless in all aspects of the game. Charging in for a shotgun/melee combo to make it effective must take some build that i don't have access to. Are you supposed to go for the running slide-in?

Some bummers - one, you can't counter recoil manually. Which really throws me off after BF. And those load times, lord. I flip over to my PC because there are only so many hours in a day. Oh, and the odds of getting a fresh PVP match instead of "some twat quit a loser" is roughly on par with WoW. Which wouldn't be so annoying thanks to the quick matches, if not for all the time spent matchmaking/loading the map again.

WTB catch-up mechanics in PVP so joining a one sided shit-fest gives you a chance to turn it around. Faster cooldowns?
Get an auto rifle with high stability and higher impact the better. Aim for the head, win.

Don't be the first guy into the fight, don't capture points unless everyone is freshly dead or you're going to be nova bomb'd and brofisted to dust.

Fusion rifles are the best option on any map that isn't the Moon. Shotguns are good if it's high impact, low recoil, and you can slide like Pete Rose.

Don't blow your special on anything less than two kills.

Don't stand next to your teammates.

Use grenades that put out massive AE effects. Place them correctly (facing towards a cap point, inside a doorway, etc).

Disc/Strength/Int are nice, but I think weapon specials (kills reduce grenade time, melee reduces grenade time, etc) are more effective in 6v6 play.

Turtle Beach and Astro both make wireless headphones w/mic and you can use the stereo headset adapter for the Xbone (sold separately: Link:Amazon.com: Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter: Video Games) to attach these to the controller and pipe both game and chat audio through the headphones. Alternatively you can use the same adapter connected to any PC headphones w/mic that you already have for general PC gaming. I'm using my Sennheiser headphones with the Xbone and they work quite well. I did have to get a connector for the single plug combined audio/mic connector to the headphone connections which was another ~$15 ( Link:Amazon.com: Sennheiser PCV 05 Combo Audio Adapter: Computers Accessories)
