So I'm a level 10 lock, DaScott804. Have sympathy and add me because I don't have a smart phone and bluestacks refuses to install and plugging in a keyboard means swapping my monitor back and forth to type in your names and dammit I'm lazy. Sony headset and new mouse (g502 holy hot) arrived today so I'm all set. (I had no idea how outdated 1600 DPI was, so I expect the XIM experience to improve significantly)
I've read next to nothing about the game so I'm just winging it until the story dries up. Like I thought emblems were some sort of faction modifier (wow tabards) and eventually looked up that they are meaningless. I still don't know what the point of the statless class armor is. I spent time doing some bounties / patrol stuff and rocketed past the story in levels so now I just do them on hard. And some of them have had some pretty insane masses of mobs to deal with that were pretty fun - does the hard switch do anything other than +levels? For weapons I'm just using whatever is better quality at the time.
I notice in PVP that if its gun vs gun, I win that shit easy no matter how high level they are. But random death to supers / nades / rockets is pretty much "eh, what can you do?" Especially if you're capping a flag which screams "blindly bomb the shit out of this location." And I guess shotguns were nerfed into the ground at some point because I recall reading how great they are and they appear to be absolutely worthless in all aspects of the game. Charging in for a shotgun/melee combo to make it effective must take some build that i don't have access to. Are you supposed to go for the running slide-in?
Some bummers - one, you can't counter recoil manually. Which really throws me off after BF. And those load times, lord. I flip over to my PC because there are only so many hours in a day. Oh, and the odds of getting a fresh PVP match instead of "some twat quit a loser" is roughly on par with WoW. Which wouldn't be so annoying thanks to the quick matches, if not for all the time spent matchmaking/loading the map again.
WTB catch-up mechanics in PVP so joining a one sided shit-fest gives you a chance to turn it around. Faster cooldowns?
