Scout rifles are beast. And what's great about them is that rarely are they used in PvP so they have a slim chance of ever getting nerfed.

So I had to kill nightfall guys with fusion rifle for pocket infinity, so I wanted to see how far I could get with only using an arc fusion rifle and nothing else. I cleared the whole thing in about 2/3 the time as when I was trying to actually clear it, and that was waiting at the end for more shit to spawn because I wasn't quite at 200 kills.

Ritley, what strategy did you use on the Archon Priest when you did the nightfall? I've been doing the pocket infinity bounty too so been using a plain old blue arc fusion rifle. Got all the way to the Priest and wiped to his adds at 20%. Never can find anyone on the PS3 so I'm doomed to run everything solo for the time being.

Just sit underneath the platform and shoot him with fusion rifle. Works much better than using sniper rifle.
I tried that but died anyways. Must have been in the wrong spot under the platform and when I self ressed it popped me outside the platform hole and I died before I could crawl back underneath.

Yeah the platform cheese works but you still have to watch for lucky shots as the snipers or others can still get you. I had a sniper sit at the very edge of the little mountain tunnel opening and get me once. So take those fuckers out as soon as you see someone shooting through. Other than that its just time consuming.
Protip, not sure if you know but if you run out of ammo, the game gives it to you if you run it all out, but I mean in all your guns after a few min.

Yeah that happened to me too. Just gotta be quick to get back in there. Or just get back to the beginning portion until you can take out some of the adds. Just remember you are not entirely invincible when youre under there. Gotta look around and see where the snipers are or those annoying fucking floating robot things. I was lucky enough to have my son with me so that helped.
I got it tonight! Had to scoot back a little under the platform but I was pretty safe. Got a legendary scout rifle as the reward (crusader 1). Pretty happy since all I had was a legendary auto rifle.

I got 4 chatterwhites before anything real for Atheon and now 14 kills on Hard Templar without the hand cannon. Last week I nearly got aonther full suit of everything warlock but with strength. Yay shards.
I did finally grind my alts to 29 so no more bullshit swapping because my 26 doesn't do any damage.
Fuck they really need a reliable way to earn Strange coins. I only need 3 more for pistol from xur and would be willing to grind if I knew there was a sure way to get them but after doing 10 strikes on playlist and getting none I'm not going to continue to trust to 'luck' just for 3 fucken strange coins. (weekly and nightfall have been done)

Spent some time in PvP the last few days and was able to improve enough to actually finish out a couple of bounties (Invective and Bad Juju). Had a couple of observations along the way.
#1 I HATE Nova Bomb
#2 Hunter Blade Dancer is so much fun in PvP. Especially when you piss off a warlock by killing them with it and they self res just to die again by it. Many lulz were had by me with this.
#3 The netcode is far from optimized. Many times I would see characters glitching around in front of me. I attributed it to lag, but its very frustrating when you unload on an opponent see their health at zero but they are able to turn around and shotgun you to death at the same time they die.
#4 I was dying a lot as the match ended because when the victory screen would come up I couldn't move but for some reason if I was near an opponent they could still get a grenade off that would land well after the match ending screen would be up. This was extremely aggravating because the bounties I had would deduct progress with each death. I got to the point when I heard the match was ending I just ran and hid to make sure I wasn't around anyone.
All in all once I improved enough to be competitive I had a lot of fun.

You go from a famine to feast situation with Strange Coins. I started off barely scraping enough up to buy a piece of gear here and there. Then I created an alt and leveled up to 26. Soloing with Icebreaker, I pull in 15 coins a week from the weekly Heroic (9 on my 28 Warlock and 6 on my 26 Titan) and that doesn't count the random coins you pick up here and there from the Cryptarch or turning in daily public events.
As has been said earlier in this thread, there are 3 weapons that are "must buys" if they show up on Xur. 1. Icebreaker 2. Jellyhorn 3. Suros Regime. When you're starting out with Xur, you never want to dip below 17 coins in case Icebreaker goes on sale because it is, by far, the single most overpowered weapon in PVE. It lets you solo pretty much any Strike (Heroic or Nightfall) because of the regenerating ammunition. Jellyhorn is vital if you're doing the raid (and I still don't have it) and Suros Regime is, probably, the best primary all around (there are other primaries that are better situationally but Suros is your best go to). Personally I'm really hoping Icebreaker goes back on sale so I can have a second. It's that good.

The one thing that annoys me (and it's not specific to this game) is having to upgrade gear. I HATE grinding out trivial shit just to level up my armor so I take .05% less damage or to push me into the next Light level. It's not even the ascendent materials that annoy me. It's the fucking helium where I simply cannot have enough of.

Ya farming materials is the 2nd most annoying thing in game, following actually leveling to lvl 20. And both would be required if I made a 3rd alt so fuck it.

Bungie said they are looing into changing this. And yeah I agree. Its stupid how they designed this shit, go around planets in a circle looking for glowy stuff. Reminds me in the beginning days of SWTOR PVP where you rode around in speeders on Illium for those crates. Hopefully they change this soon.
