Every season, they release a wildly OP build that 99% of the people play. Also, several seasons ago, they sped up leveling speed and got rid of 40 levels so people could reach endgame faster. They also increased drop rates on everything, including increasing the number of activities that rewarded caches.
Now, they are complaining too many people are blowing through the levels and finishing the end game too quickly. So in response to their response, they are nerfing leveling speed, nerfing loot drops, greatly scaling back loot drops for legendaries and above, and increasing the scaling of torments. They only want 10% of the players to reach T4.
What?
So, once again, leveling will be tedious and there will be almost no loot. I suspect almost no one will be playing the upcoming season.

i am almost certain for every person they have/had working on game design/play they had 10 working on cosmetics for the shop.

They made leveling much faster, which worked because it goes from really fun to "Why am I even playing this" pretty damn quick and you could usually get to max level when that happened.
Sounds like they fucked that up and leveling's shitty again, which isn't surprising since they've been incompetent since day 1

I made it to level 8 before I noticed they removed the free cosmetic armor set in the revamped battle pass. Uninstalled.

They threw away all the good changes they made between beta and this new season. That's not hyperbole. Nerfed level speed, nerfed drop rates, made bosses tedious to fight (not difficult, just tedious), nerfed glyph leveling by compressing pit tiers thus murdering playing on eternal, decided that only 10% of players should be in T4....which also means they don't want 90% of their remaining players to play the game. They made season pass more expensive and with fewer rewards. Seasons themselves will be reduced in scale, and limited to legion events and season mechanics.
Basically a dead game with few players, and they've dumped it into low maintenance mode.
