I feel like artists are much more sought after than writers.

No offense Brahma man but that’s a tough sell.

Would be more interesting to "crowdfund" some worldbuilding as a collective on this forum, then vote on storyline ideas where hopefully a good writer will emerge.

Still need that artist though.

Unless the artist is really into the idea, usually you gotta commission the artist for that type of commitment

You could do the Trondheim - Menu challenge. Comic artist J. C. Menu challenged author Lewis Trondheim to write a whole album of comic strips based on 4 panels drawn by Menu. Trondheim asked for an additional 4 and then created 100 strips packed full of hilarious, absurd and deep philosophical musings.

The thing is in french, but here is a home made translation of one of the first strips, showing how Trondheim very quickly found freedom within the constraint.
