I feel like EG is missing the leadership element from the current roster and is relying too much on individual skill to pull them through. They have so many games where they hang on by their fingertips and claw their way back into it by outplaying opponents. History suggests that this isn't the way to win TI.

Haven't looked at the stats but I've seen a bunch of games where he basically doesn't do shit too, people ignore him kinda, kill 2-3people on his team, then turn and kill him by either CCing then hitting him from the front/silver edge/just fighting through quills especially ranged chars that can hit him while still being out of quill range. Might be OP in some games though but not sure how OP he really is. Also got nerfed a bit.
Still think this patch is great, one or 2 heroes being broken is generally fine and controllable, you either ban them early or let them through with the intent of countering it hard and it kinda balances out the times it's too strong. It's when there's too many OP heroes in a version that it becomes shitty cause you have to ban x and y but then z gets through and makes the game dumb as shit and so on.
Having the jungle back is great for general team farm and having basically 3cores, 1geared support and 1 ward bitch, which in turns makes the game more interesting in teamfights imo rather than having 2 starved supports. Can see some of the cool action making supports come back when they have room to find some farm like ES and SK. Neither was particularily bad before but hard to find room to farm a blink dagger before the jungle was changed to respawn more often again when your cores are taking everything everywhere.
FYI, in addition to The Summit there is a tournament called Galaxy Battles ongoing - has a couple top Chinese teams, Odd and two SEA teams featuring Jeyo and 1437.

Just had a pos 1 PA go Deso-Glimmer-Vlads against basically pure magic damage team. Needless to say, we didn't win. When he finally built BKB 45 minutes in, he tried to pretend like it is a terrible item. No shit sherlock, you missed the timing by 20 minutes.

Summit is just one of those tournaments. Really laid back, still a hundy on the line, Jeremy Lin casting. It is like a lazy Dream League. Really lazy. But good times. The compendium and workshop changes hurt it the most. Most teams would come for the tournament and team house until TI quals also. Just an extended vacay with some dotes.

Dota makes me want to kill myself sometimes.
Weekly reset happens, got on a team with about a 500 mmr average more than me with a guy who is super confident. He takes mid and says, "Guys, go all in. I promise you a win." Team proceeds to bet 500 tokens individual and 250+ team shared, and we all double down on MMR rank. Other team is total plebs and only 2 of them even have a compendium. We proceed to get shit stomped in a 28 min GG.
I am totally tilted at this point and queue up again. Game loads, I am the highest MMR this time. This guy says, "Mid r Feed". First picks Phantom Assassin and puts his hero icon in our jungle. The rest of us and all talking, trying to pick a non-shit team, and not even know if this fucking queer was serious or not, because he must have alt-tabbed to look at midget porn or something. Our last picker is saying,"PA are you really going mid??" No response, so he takes a Viper. Game starts and PA blows his fucking gasket because he and viper are both mid, leaving just a Magnus in safelane who feeds 3 deaths to a Veno and Timber within 4 minutes into the game. The PA has the nerve to tell us and the other team to report Viper and Magnus. He starts feeding his hero and couriers. 15 min GG.
Net loss of almost 100 mmr in about 30 minutes time. LOL

That's the point where I go play something else. I almost got all my SC2 commanders to lvl 15, just sayin. Unless you play with a group, it's unwise to ever start a game with "we will win", just go for doing your best. Losing 100 mmr doesn't make you any worse of a player.
Pinging every new item on the enemy team, only to some retard to die to a blink blademail on LC that I pinged 5 minuutes ago. Chen that clears exclusively your pull camps and proceeds to be 3s late on every ulti and mek heal.

PPD cracks me up. I know a lot of people seem to hate him, but he just always seems to be a competitor in whatever he does and is just honest. Not trying to be a dick per se. Just, he opens his mouth and out it comes.
As to Dota pain, I feel you. Last one was similar. Friend and I queue. We have the most awesome draft against a no true carry opposing team. We all toss in tokens forever. Then my friend who is a carry PA admits its 'not their best hero' and proceeds to play like bagged ass. Our Riki, who slam picked the hero first (shoulda been a warning) proceeds to do nothing. At all. Can't even drop a smoke cloud. My PA friend can't decide to fight or farm. So builds farm build and tries to fight. I'm the sole support trying to keep every one alive.
At the end, my friend admits she's not good at PA but thought it would be 'fun' to play for a change. One of her worst heros. I was like, why the fucked did you pick it in ranked then? Sigh. That was my last game for the night that night

Secret looks poised to win The Summit, anyone else would be an upset at this point, but they still don't look as crisp as Liquid/EG, but it seems like they are on the upswing at the right time.
