Map pings, not pings pings. You know the shit that does a lot of noise and if you click it for 10mins makes everyone crazy, at least if people don't mute you which I'm pretty sure removes pings entirely. They throttle the amount of map pings muted people can do, because you know some of the retards that are muted still find ways to be annoying to everyone else.
Easier to play heroes will be picked up more often. Shadow Demon and Batrider have a higher skill cap than a lot of heroes. You probably won't see a lot of Invoker or Meepo, then again you probably won't see a lot of Meepo anywhere.
The heroes that are picked at lower tier aren't the heroes that are "figured out" necessarily, they're heroes that snowball well in uncoordinated pubs, that can win games or that feel fun to play. That's why you see a lot of invis heroes, carries and gankers, and not many supports, especially selfless supports(what I mean is supports unlike lina which can still get kills because of laguna blade). There's also a dregs of pudge pickers in the lower tiers, for the fun to play, even though he's hard to play right and most low tier pudges are actually fucking awful. Viper, Zeus, Juggernaut are other picks like that, press R to kill people. Also have the super lategame carries because it's fun to 1vs5 people so void, PA and so on.
