Don't psychiatrists constantly project.
a quote from our own Mental board
@ Frienziedwombat et me share a secret with you. Most therapists/psychologists are nutbags. I'm not saying this necessarily interferes with their ability to be effective at what they do, but a large swath of them have just as many "issues" as their patients. I have for example four sisters, two of whom studied psychology in college. One had an eating disorder in her teens and early twenties, and she was drawn to psychology as a way to figure out her own issues. She now has a PhD and treats women with eating disorders. The other was (and still is) a diagnosed narcissist, and did her bachelor's in psychology, if only to prove she isn't a narcissist and be able to constantly "tell people what they're feeling because I have a degree in psychology". Again, I'm not saying that a crazy psychologist is any less effective than a sane one, just that the field attracts a lot of people with "issues". The only danger I really see with this phenomena is that psych patients seem to bestow this "infallible" title to their therapists, when in fact they're not spock, but just another human with real issues too.
