Yeah good take down.

You can do a similar strategy with a Battlemage, as long as you are deep in the Barrier spec and have the Fade Step plus BM invulnerability move. Basically, you use Fade Step to close with the dragon (or get in his ass) and pop invulnerability any time you think he is going to do a knockdown. Spam blade the entire time and manually refresh the barrier whenever the auto near death cooldown is not up. It takes forever, compared to a Barrel Rolling Reaver, but the strategy is essentially the same. I dropped the pussy Western Approach dragon that way (had wrong guys with me and triggered fight and they wiped out), but I screwed up the timing the one time I tried it solo on the Storm Coast dragon.

TLDR Version, Awesome Video and Battlemages are EZmode.

Thanks folks. Next dragon will be a bit as I have story/leveling to catch up on to get to Vinsomer. Going to try not to switch back to shield in the meantime (solo Reaver vs. Rifts = lots of potion chugging).

Phazael - yeah KE Mage is pretty ridiculous. I wish there was one more dodge or survivability move available for Mages outside of the KE tree because I'd really like to go through the game solo as Rift or Necro.
Actually with the cooldown reduction skills in Lightning/Fire and a 10% CDR necklace you might be able to get a Blink in whenever you need it. Probably can't do all the content but can take on Dragons with enough skill points.

Do you get more XP by playing solo? Used to do solo runs way back in Baldurs Gate, almost tempted to do it here aswell, thanks to the pants on head retarded companion AI. Don't understand why the tactical mode is so terrible, at least give us some proper tools to set up the AIs behaviour.

Anyways, what's a good 2h warrior build, guess I'll go with Reaver as the other two are problably next to useless (like in all the previous games).

Take all the 2h abilities. Then since you have nothing else to spend points on, take all the reaver abilities.

My build is all Reaver, minus the fear and the focus skill. Then Combat Roll with the buff, and enough in the taunt tree to get Raging Bull (buff on this one helps too). No points in the 2H tree yet.
But that's for solo, your mileage may vary for group play. Dragon Rage is great though, no cooldown, high damage, and only costs health. Who needs that shit, amirite?

And no, you don't get more XP solo.

Apparently you have to go manually through the checkout interface to download the free mp dlc. Even Origin itself is just a shitty console port.

Did you say you can update now to deluxe? Was being able to buy deluxe available fromt he start, what did it give? (is that the dragon armor I got early game?).

Also whats the thoughts on starting race? I always go human on everyone for the extra point since there are so many useful ones that make life easier early on but this time with my 2 hand warrior I went for the 10% physical Qinara or whatever. Sad thing is, this is the SECOND time in 26 years of playing video games that I ever picked a female as my character and of course it would be a fucking she-man looking beast that looks like she would rape me. Luckily that blue eye shadow I gave her makes her look almost trashy enough to "cuddle" with...

I just finished it. Totally geeking out over all the lore implications of the final stretch of the game.

I really enjoyed the game, but I will say that the ending was a bit anticlimactic gameplay wise (story-wise still 10 out of 10) since you miss 2 of the biggest fights in the game based on some choices you make.

Seems they changed the difficulty to be a little easier on multiplayer and you don't lose anything if you disconnect. Now just more content and it will be pretty awesome.

I moved this game to my SSD and now after 5-10 mins of super smooth playing it hitches and stutters down to 0-7 FPS until I exit game to desktop and restart, I have no idea what that could even be/mean.

Just picked this up on ps4 loving it so far. Pretty early in only level 8,

Anyone want to give me a run down on the best perks and Mage spec?

The rift mage uber-power is a bit of a letdown since it is fire-based (and therefore not much use against, you know, fire-breathing dragons and demons and shit) but the gravity pull power + weaken + fire mine is HILARIOUSLYpowerful - especially since there are a ton of spells/abilitites that also do +dam to weakened creatures. You can annihiliate mobs with that. KE is everyone's go-to single-target impossible-to-kill OP boss killer and pretty much everyone agrees that necro is the worst.

The spells in the generic lines are kinda no-brainers and you get so many points it really doesn't matter which ones you prefer since you'll run out of mana and things will be dead before you can pop off more than 3-4 "favorites" in your rotation.

For Inquisitor perks I got all the inventory ones since inventory mgmt sucks. Also the forward scouts one is useful if you want to make Skyhold oh so pretty. + dam defense and + deft hands are also good.

Honestly, the game is easy as shit even on Nightmare 99% of the time so worry more about doing what you think is fun rather than getting uber powerful.

What did you use to move it?
