Server message said servers would be going down at in about an hour, then remain down for 2 hours. Presumably after servers are back up, the deep desert reset will be done.

On a side note, if you go solo into the Deep Desert and find a testing station in the PVP region that had a shielded room with a power core thing inside it, don't go into that room. It basically spawns waves of enemies like the old "ring" encounters in Everquest and you get locked inside and if you die you drop all loot except your equipment, heals, ammo, and some tools. I got to wave 3 solo before I quit it and abandoned my dropped stuff. Apparently some people got to wave 20 and it still didn't end.

IDK if it is overtuned or if it is supposed to be some PVE version of a raid encounter? The enemies that spawn are beefy as fuck and the room is tiny, so you have half a dozen shielded ninjas running after you while heavies and snipers keep shooting lol

What's the verdict boyos? Worth it?

This or Oblivion remastered (if I've already played Oblivion)?

I suppose I could refund it after 2 hours if I don't like it..

Its ok. Its your average survival type game. Gather, craft shit, gather better shit then craft better shit and on and on. Not sure how the end game is. The world is cool, filled with camps and dungeons, shipwrecks... There is also unique patterns you can find, etc.. So if you like this type of game loop of gather, build, craft, then you will like this.

Oblivion remastered still suffers from original bugs. Like the fucking skeleton corpse loot box that never disappears. Do Dune.

do it jewish GIF

Yeah, really enjoying pretty much everything about this game so far. Seeing the bases people come up with is pretty fun as well.

So a couple questions as I think my base might get it's ass kicked in a couple days :p

I build really close to the walls but I am also on the sand. I have my shields up and such but also put in enough power for 8 days in my two generators. Assuming this is a real time countdown? I am busy the next 4-5 days and won't be able to log in and hoping the base is still there when I get back :p

I am fairly early on where I am asked to go to Griffen town. This weekly sand change or whatever they call it, does that just destroy everything? Or is that just for a PvP thing where everything moves?

Also some guy was trying to get buddy buddy with me yesterday and wanted to know where my base was. If that was Cinge Cinge all good because we are on the same server, but I am guessing it wasn't because I didn't see him playing in Steam and I made sure to switch everything to owner access only :p I didn't friend the guy or anything but sounds like maybe he wanted to steal my shit :p

Generator count down is real-world time.

The Coriolis Sand Storm only impacts resource locations, POI's do not change. It also resets the deep desert, which is where a lot of the PVP will and does take place.

Ok cool. So basically the only things that can hurt my base are the sandworm and storms if shields are down? I did fight some dudes that came from the sky so I was thinking there was a possibility of NPC's coming in to jack my stuff while I am offline :p

lol, yeah, avoid those spotlights, but yeah, unless its in the pvp zone, your base is safe if its not on open sand and the shields are good.

Being Dune. I was expecting this to get at least 500k concurrent users at release then drop down to about 5-10k after a month or so. Maybe this weekend. Even Ark peaked around 250k.
I guess people like Dinos more than sand?

It's a fun game - #1 on the Steam charts currently as top seller - 134k right now at 4pm central on a Wednesday. I do not track a lot of the survival games but seems pretty decent.

I tried to raid a base someone built in the PVP area of DD after a regular sandstorm hit just to see how viable it was. Unfortunately a bunch of people had the same idea and started to light me up once I started to attack the door. Barely got the f out before I got killed lol

Apparently you only have 6 minutes before shields come back up

Spent a good chunk of the past couple days mostly scouting out the deep desert. Found a few "islands" with massive titanium and stravium or whatever its called deposits - like 20+ nodes per island. The PVP shipwrecks are also much more viable to run solo as opposed to the testing stations in the PVP deep desert (only died a few times vs. a dozen times lol) - those testing stations are either overtuned as fuck or they expect you to run like 7+ people. Biggest issue with the testing stations is you get locked in a tiny ass room with bad sight lines. While the sightlines do help for avoiding to get shot, it also forces you to expose yourself to take shots and then you get the blade dudes zerging you non-stop and they do some AOE bubble thing that drains all your stamina so you can't even melee them back. The melee guys are what makes the encounters hard - they're tanky as fuck and constantly rush you. The ranged guys take over and will hang back usually, giving you time to heal up.

I don't think you do.

I'm more interested in my predictions than the game itself. The game itself is mid. I don't think it's better than Ark, content wise, but I really thought it would be closer to 500k. The Dune IP, the fanboi base, and hype from the usually sources. Closer to what happened to POE2.
