How long does this fucking corialis sandstorm last? Or is the first one (not sure if the early access had one)?

Super obnoxious to have a constant sandstorm. Maybe that's why servers shit the bed?

It lasts until tomorrow - it is the Deep Desert wipe, although Hagga Basin gets super windy and hard to see as well in parts

I think the servers may have shit the bed because you had tons of people trying to transport all their shit out of the deep desert bases, since they get wiped tomorrow. I eventually got past the loading screen, but I had to let the game sit there for well over 60-70 minutes. My character and ornithopter were fine when I logged in

Game is still awesome but those melee guys with shields can go fuck themselves with their poise break. Melee in this game is horrendous. I am glad I have a sniper poison dart right now as it helps. Also have the disrupter but it takes 60 shots to get rid of the shields and kill the fucker. It gets REALLY fucking annoying.

Have the Mk2 sandbike now and working on the mk3 buggy - full set of new scout armor, some better guns. I am finding myself not using Heal Mk2 packs and instead just crafting the MK1's because you can easily make a ton without having to raid orange camps for mats.

I am completely lost in the story but also am now playing with my buddy so we have a solid base and have teamed up.

Fuck Melee :)

Fuck Melee :)

a guy I play with is full melee and he loves it. I’ve seen him cut though people quicker than I can shoot them at times.

in his words, “sounds like a skill issue”. ;)

Disrupters feels weaker than the beta. Once you get drillshot, you’ll probably prefer that for ranged anti-shield. That’s the thing from the movie where the projectile slowly drills through the shield

You can do some pretty insane things with melee once you figure out how the combat system "works".

I've been trying to do combat strictly as melee just to get more used to the "jank" and it has been helping a ton with what I'm able to pull off. Plus, melee gets full shield access. Ranged weapons drop your shields when you fire.

This guy makes some interesting videos that actually uses math to break down perks and what they do. Like his breakdown of the mining perks I would have never had guessed how they actually function. Cutterray yield useless in cutterrays but amazing in buggies, analysis mode is the real cutterray hand mining bonus (the follow the blue line mini game)

Can you enjoy the game without pvp? I hate pvp. Probably because I'm awful at it.
100%. MK6 gear is a little tough without having a solid group of friends/guild, but can still technically be done solo.

Once you're through the main story, full MK5 gear, and tool around in the Deep Desert for a bit, the game is basically "done" from my viewpoint. I'll probably log in here and there to farm up mats to keep my base running once a week and make it look pretty/redesign it occasionally, but I'll basically just keep the game on ice until they add more content.

In the base map just avoid shipwrecks.

You can get up to tier 5 gear without pvp.

Technically you could go to the deep desert to gather and get final tier without running into pvp but its pure chance. You can definitely go and just not fight back and fly away. There will always be a chance at dying though, which for someone that hates pvp might just make them quit, especially if it ends in losing your thopter, loot your carrying or even if you crashed in open desert because of missiles and then eaten by a worm, and thus lose everything.

Can always make the runs with minimal gear(cutter, stillsuit, welding wire and repair gun etc) so you dont lose much and be prepared for the possibility of losing your thopter(aka have a backup or enough mats for another one).

Like kirun said, there is definitely a wall here. Get all the gear you can, farm up some t6 from DD, do contracts/story. Their landsraad thing is supposed to be their end game, but it just seems like a endless list of materials you will need to gather or mobs to kill each week. The bonus if your side wins are very nice(I think atm we have 30% reduction on crafting costs) but its still a wall, once you have all the top tier stations made, all the top tier armor/weapons/gadgets.

Because blood weight adds up quick and that space is better used to stay out farming resources longer.

doing it this way I always have at least 150k water (into out just over 200k), more than enough.
Those are rookie numbers. Shit takes a fuck ton of water.

On weight though, death stills require corpses and they are heavy as fuck. I usually make a run specifically for corpses but I’ll drain them as I go so I’m getting all I can for my time.

The blood purifiers are technically the most efficient of all the water sources (not including dew gathering) so I like to keep them running.

My base is next to a tier5 camp with endless bodies. 3 advance death stills, water hasn’t been an issue for me since before I could harvest dew.

throw 6 bodies in my vehicle, load up a chest in like 5min and don’t have to worry about anything else.

Do you just have like a half dozen of the large water storages? Like I said the other day, my issue with death is that you can't "start" a corpse until you've got space. So unless you just have tons of extra space, they seem a little inefficient.

I have 6 medium and 1 large at the moment.

if I make a bunch of stuff, I can make 135,000 water an hour.

Ya, doing quests is the best way to get a large initial amount of money. Between that and the POI the quests send you to, you'll have hundreds of thousands of solari.

After the quests dry up, best money makers are running testing stations and looting the money from chests and selling surplus items like shields, power packs, armor, or weapons to the NPC vendors (if you have space). You'll probably run higher level testing stations or shipwrecks anyways because of the unique schematics you can get from the "star" chests in them.

Not many people use the market place, but some of the uniques from deep desert can be useful and my understanding is every week, the uniques you can get may cycle. So some may be in demand later. I suspect there will be a demand for the compact compactor and the tabr soft step boot schematics since those combined let you harvest spice for much longer without pissing off the worm.
