Basically ANY game that allows for proximity voice chat is better for it. It always allows for more hilarious interactions.
And yet many studios, like Bungie for example, try NEVER to put it in their games. (They didnt have it in Marathon tests) Even though players basically beg them for it. They claim its to stop toxic shit but you can basically opt out at any time with one click of the mouse if some faggot is screaming at you. Or give players the option to right click on the faggot player and ignore him for ever. Im sure these studios lose more people over time over this issue then gain for not having one. Fuck sakes, for the longest time, before they added it FINALLY, you couldnt even text to chat in a multi player game that relies on others participation and grouping up and shit. It really boggles the brains how people (devs) can be so stupid.

and when they DID finally add the shit to destiny 2, it was opt in, not opt out. So you had to wade through the menus to find it, turn it on and hope that others turn their shit on too. So most people dont bother to turn it on, I dont even think many people know about it. lol

People basically had to rely on apps on phones or websites to LFG in a multiplayer game with dungeons and raids because no one could communicate in game for fucking YEARS. Basically all of Destiny 1, and Destiny 2 up until like a year or two ago when they finally caved in and added a LFG, group chat and text. Still no world chat channels which would come in handy, in you know, basically a mmorpg with confusing ass quests and progression for new players and even ones returning.

I finished off mastering the 5th class today and have been toying around with building. Messing with the vertical/horizontal base expansions. Plan on expanding my base this weekend and collecting what intel I haven't collected yet. Games great fun, I could stop playing now and be happy with my purchase. I'm just in bonus time that I'm loving at this point.

Hmm my thoughts so far:

It is really hard to just spend your skill points. I did find all the trainers without cheating, but 2 were a struggle.

Passives rule. I've never actually used an active ability. Why bother when I can just blast em?

I hate the planetologist. The quest line broke in every possible way a quest can break. I wasted hours and hours trying to fix it and get it back on the rails so I could just spend some goddamn points. I definitely cheated on this one.

The maidenly pursuits are good, but how about a bath tub? I've got big ass water tanks I can handle it!

I love the big truck miner!

I've respeced a few times after learning some skills either aren't as great as they seem on paper or don't work like expected. Take for instance the Mentat skills where it says if you damage an enemy, it creates a weakpoint where you do 30% more damage. Sounds great, but the reality is the position of the weakpoint is random, so it could appear on the enemy's ass or toe behind cover, meaning you don't get any effective usage out of it.

So weird, was putzing around with the structure of my base and suddenly it said i needed to build the console again. I never destroyed it. Placed another down, aproximately where I thought it needed to go. Nope, was off by a bit, so needed to rebuild it to change the footprint. THEN it warns me that if i destroy the console anyone can loot my base, etc. Well how did it go away without that warning before?

Was this from not paying taxes? My unpaid taxes are now 2191, think before they were 300 something, and I thought my owed taxes total were over 4k. Now it's barely more than 2k.

Probably not super significant, but does anyone know where the fuck the access band is in the Hicetas shipwreck in A1? I ran all over the place and couldn't find it. I imagine it's probably got to be like that one in A3 that you cutteray some random shit to find it. I did both the access panels and didn't see it in either of those.

I wanted to get all the unique patterns knocked out and I wandered that one forever without finding a way in.

I should probably just say screw it and start farming deeper in DD, but I'm still a bit scared.

There is a hidden shaft that emits purple light. You have to cutterray the salvage pile to notice it. I think that's the one you are talking about. You can see the purple light from the outside so you know you will be close.

Here is how taxes work How Taxes Work in Dune Awakening.

With that said did you have it locked down to owner? If not someone could have messed with you. Otherwise definitely a bug.

Always put your base console on a rock or terrain if possible - the game doesn't warn you if deleting a building piece will destroy the console

Think this is what likely happened, i deleted a column on the floor below it that was... close? to it. Then had the problem shortly after.

Kinda dumb, since when you go to delete it directly you get a big warning, but you can delete it accidentally by doing this.

Went and paid my taxes for the first time tonight and picked up my advanced trooper contract. Checked out the exchange... and got like 3 buggy parts for 8k, including a mk4 laser. Felt like I stole the thing.

I'm short steel to actually make my final piece or two for it, but finally have a buggy tomorrow. Baby steps.

Probably because PVP in these types of games is always fucking terrible. And in this one the only thing it amounts to is griefers attempting to get PVE'ers eaten by the worm so they lose everything.

I mean, on the one hand there's really no danger in the deep desert, so it does add some actual challenge. But it's a challenge in the stupidest way possible.

The biggest issue with PVP in this game, as far as I can tell, is it's objectiveless. What do you get from engaging in PVP? There are no PVP rewards. That means the only purpose it can have is griefing. They implemented a PVP as endgame system, but to what end?

They mention Landsraad in there, but as someone who's not in a guild, I still have literally zero idea what it's for. Nothing in game explains that shit to you. You can talk to a bunch of "house" leaders, and you can bring up the Landsraad window, but...what is it for?

Expanding the pve areas is a good idea - I suspect the t6 node density will be dogshit still. Even now in PvP DD, getting more than 1 titanium/stravium node per POI requires you travel more than 15k out

It sounds like they want to encourage fleeing as a viable tactic, which is fine. They only mentioned scouts with the booster change, so I go wonder how that will impact assaults

As an experiment, last night I did some resource runs wearing no gear except a cutter and compactor with a booster scout. I would pocket my orni the instant I landed. Out of 10 trips, 3 would have probably ended in losing my orni if it was parked. I could carry about 186 titanium ore, 230 oe so stavium, or a little over 1k spice sand on my character and round trip was over 20 minutes

Much lower risk, but much more tedious. Even a cargo scout, if filled plus my inventory, would easily equal 4 naked runs. The real killer is loiter time - the longer you’re sitting around, the greater the chance you’ll be found by bored gankers

Yup. Buddies and I ganked some dude at a ship POI just because we didn't want to take the risk of him doing it to us while we were looting or whatever. Literally zero reason outside of that.
