You can get the first 2 books free on audible. I think I paid $8 for book 3 so far. Great for commuting or laying in bed. The voice acting is very well done.

Book 3 spoilers,
the spike train scoop part is so wild and fucked up. Also Fuck Hekla, just had to stop reading where Donut catches her trying to kill Katya. He better blow her the fuck up…

I stopped at that point too for about a week. Never stopped thinking about it.

Book 3 is by far the worst of the books. I actually struggled to get through that one.

I didn’t like the whole train layout, monsters getting on and off trains, etc. It had plenty of good moments in it though so I didn’t struggle to get through it, was just very disinterested in the setting and them trying to figure the lines out. Using her as a cattle attachment was fucking lol, as well as a couple of the creative kills I won’t list here since there’s noobs reading.

I didn't mind the trains book, it bothered me he didn't bomb the pit for the exp when he was there. It did include them waking up to the plight of the npcs which was wild.

I line book 3, but it took a few reads for everything to gel.

From what I've read so far off the early chapters, 8 is going to claim the title of worst book of the bunch. Not really a surprise though what can you do after faction wars.

I think book 3 was just a little long because of how much detail he was trying to impart about The Tangle. It was all nonsensical no matter what so it was wasted story. I still like the book though.

Well when he prefaced the book with “Don’t try to make sense of any of this, it’s not important” then the book goes on describing everything, it kind of made me sour on it a bit. I’m guessing he was getting a lot of feedback about how confusing it was when it was in patreon/web form so threw that intro in there. Idk, I still liked it too just my least favorite of them all.

Once they knew what stations did what based on the last digit or name it wasn’t that hard to follow.
Also
Ha few paragraphs after I stopped Hekla went smush. Cool crossbow.

That spoilered scene was really well done and I still think about it often. I also liked the Growler Gary plotline for some reason. That probably means I am a psychopath, but it was just my type of humor.

That's my understanding. Originally he didn't have that warning.

The tangle didn't bother me. I didn't feel compelled to try to make sense of it. I think it's because I could tell he wasn't giving us enough information. I was also probably helped by the fact that I was listening. If I had been reading I might have felt compelled to flip back and re-read shit to keep it straight. I laughed at one part where they figured out a colored line means one thing and a named line means something else. Then someone comments that's bullshit because xxxx isn't a color and it's acting like a colored line. "well, it must be a color then" because that was already how I felt about a lot of the colors they had been naming.

same but he did wind up doing it anyway at the end and getting xp. I was also disappointed he didn't bomb the mimic. But I guess matt had other plans for both.
