He said he is done at 10 books. 8 is already pretty much in the can.I reeeeallly need Dinniman to not let fame get to him and just finish the fucking series. If he can even moderately stick the landing then it will go down as one of the best sci-fi/fantasy series of all times.
As someone who read the books all in a row last year the quality declines the last few and to me it seemed he was letting it get to him already. It’s shocking how much the book became Carl watching girl bosses get things done compared to where it started.I reeeeallly need Dinniman to not let fame get to him and just finish the fucking series. I bought the first 2 audiobooks for a sort of reread. It didn't get close to just reading them.Holy fuckballs. Apparently the audiobook version has outsold the physical books for this series. I don't get that. I love letting my imagination fill in all the details like that when I read. That said I don't listen to talk radio or podcasts either, so that's probably a me thing.
I never once thought “oh he’s just having her do it for girl boss scene” because everyone in the book is basically a god compared to a regular person with all the items and abilities and stat boosters they have, men and women (and cats and alligators). As someone who read the books all in a row last year the quality declines the last few and to me it seemed he was letting it get to him already. He’s noooooowhere near as bad as Sanderson has gotten with therapy chronicles, so I’m not hating… yet.

I am not an audio anything person. If I am focusing on sound it disrupts my focus. I am fine with background noise and music, but trying to just listen to something doesn't do it for me. I end up finding something else to do, like playing games. Books I have always loved. TV and movies I can do. Like I said, I don't listen to talk radio at all. I tune out immediately when the DJs start talking or commercials start up on radio stations.Have you tried it? You can get the first one free on audible.
It's more like a radio play than an audio book. Different characters have different voices and it's all very well produced. They even have some "celebrity" guest voices. Critical drinker was awesome!

Yup. Everyone's brain handles sensory input differently. That's why some people are better at learning via reading. Some are better at learning via oral instructions. Some hands on. Etc etc.To each their own.
I like listening to audio books while driving, doing chores, working out, watching my kids at the park etc, basically anytime my hands and eyes are occupied but my mind isn't.
He could keep going after finishing 10 books and finishing the dungeon. He said he's written tons of back stories for characters that never made the books. If he needs another pull off of the DCC teet he could always go back and write / release those stories. He said he is done at 10 books. 8 is already pretty much in the can.
