Started this a while ago and gave up as it seemed silly. Then I got to the part where the cat starts talking. Wtf was wrong with me, this is awesome. I had to make myself stop reading last night so I could get some sleep. Wow.

Welcome to the Dungeon! Book 8 comes out on 3/12, so good time to get in. Not that there's a bad time to get in.

Just finished my re-read of the whole series (re-listen, first go was reading, this redo was trying out the audiobooks).

Series was even better on the second run IMO. Amazing stuff overall and I even ended up with a new appreciation for books 3 and 6 which were my least favorites prior.

The narrator is an amazing god tier talent. The fact he does EVERY voice still blows my mind. The funny thing is he does feminine female voices very well, it’s the gruff masculine female voices he has issues with. Each performance is better than the last, book 7 was crazy production values for an audiobook. He needs to be the sole voice actor for an animated series.

Looking forward to book 8, many interesting unresolved threads to investigate.

I went ahead and bought Operation Bounce House to get my Dinniman fix while I wait for book 8.
Not nearly as good imo. Maybe I'm just struggling reading at the moment, but it really just didn't catch me at all. I was never attached to any of the characters, and the whole book I just felt like I was waiting for something. It's not that it's a bad story, it just feels like a book that was trying to make a political statement and wrote a story around it.

If the story is good that's not a bad thing.
