There is a theory out there that Carl lost the Cookbook due to the inventory swap and Donut's comment about what's this cookbook doing on your hotbar." Interesting if true, though at this stage I'm not really sure it has much impact.

I worried about that for a brief moment but I don't buy it. It's not like donut didn't know he had the cookbook. She was there when he won it. I don't think she can see the hidden text without the escape plan skill so even if she had time to try to read it, she would have gotten nothing. She might suspect something is up with the book. I'd have to re-read it's introdcution but I thought he was only in trouble if he told anyone about it. Not if someone got sus on their own through no fault of his. I think the only way he might lose it is if people on the outside take note of what she said and start digging into it. I do think it would be smart for them to play up the idea that random things were added to the hotbars during the attack. Particularly his since he had an expanded hotbar.

Edit
However, if the organization running this season begins to suspect that this book is more than it appears, or if you tell anyone about the existence of this book, the information within will erase, and you will forever lose access to the hidden text.
