I started finding finding Blunt repulsive after I saw some stalkery vid on YT that laid out more or less precisely when she had veneers installed. I'm sure as shit not saying she's ugly but the idea of getting your teeth ground down to get that impossibly white Hollywood smile just disgusts me.

You could do the basic sequel format where you mostly repeat the first film. It's been ten years and the aliens have attacked again. Their nanite meteorite weapon impacted in a different location this time and instead of worm and starfish monsters it's insects. Ants are pretty common. We'll go with ants. The war is kinda going shitty until wouldn't you know it the humans stumbled upon another rewind power bestowing accident.
We can even have a twist later where it's revealed that whole units have been trained to fight and die in such a manner to give themselves the best possible chance of getting super powers something something military industrial complex.
