Pro tip: if you camp on the lake shore east of the #3 buildings it's completely safe, nothing paths there. The hunter/forager mobs roam along the hills just west of the buildings.

I lived in this zone.

I parked where the river met the lake south of #2 building, and would fish while medding. Randoms would come and I would help them get their key :p

Thinking about logging in to my 65 wizard tonight to see if can grab a group and get some levels.

Anybody still leveling on Teek at this point?

I had subbed a couple more of my old accounts to level up a 3 box crew (SK and SHM to go with my 70 enchanter), but I got so fucking bored in the 40s playing by myself in Lower Guk. I ended up going to play a new character on Fangbreaker with my brother, and haven't been back to Teek yet.

I don't want to abandon all the effort I put in to my 65 Wizard (70 enchanter persona), but I really just can't get in to boxing no matter how many times I try.

How many groups do you think can handle that fight? Been a while since I have done it but remember it being a nasty one.

3 groups sounds about right. Someone'll probably ackshually that it can be done with 2, but I'd bring 3. Can chain-spawn it (clearly) so if a couple clerics are almost done you can go do their other fights (Girplan) and then double/triple up on Zordaks. Less running all the way through TD is a good thing.

I always thought of this guy as being the big boss of epic 2.0 mobs, but Herrian Warfrost (ranger 2.0 mob in WOS) is tougher by a mile. He's been the toughest epic fight, I think.

I'm pretty much done farming DON crystals so here's my secret to getting tons of them. Not much of a secret anymore though, I think everybody knows about this mission now. Faceless folk have had this video for weeks as well.

All you really need is an /open hotkey and to know where the eggs are. Leave the first one up, and once you hit 12 bolt for the exit (two of them are on the way to it)*

Someone running Selo outside helps a lot, as does FD once the train gets too severe. If I hadn't gotten a cleric mob with the boss, it would have taken 3:xx instead of 4:xx, and it can probably be done in 2:xx

* - FD classes don't even need to zone out, just open the first egg and then Imitate Death / other aggro clear on the last one running toward the zoneout and fight the Matriarch there.

The latest mystery zoneline:

1750042332025.png

Jaggedpine Forest was probably supposed to be part of the classic game. On all the maps for that Qeynos Hills/Everfrost region. Got finished and added in much later. What I'm wondering is... what zone was this zoneline supposed to go to? I'm thinking a zone that would be a go-between for this zone and Everfrost.

Looking at the original map, Unkempt Woods is the main thing that jumps out. There's also stuff that never got used, like The Frigid Plain, The Northlands, and The Hatchland (not to be confused with The Nest, which is south of Halas and became DoN).

Buddies just randomly decided to want to play EQ after not playing since 2004 lol. Work is finally about to slow down for me so it works out great.
We want to do twinks. I’m thinking Teek would be the better option than Fangbreaker. I wonder if anyone is still playing noobs on Teek.

Twinking is dogshit on fangbreaker, a fungi is like 10 krono. Teek will have a ton of shit for cheap in comparison

I've really enjoyed my time on Teek, but I'm curious if I want to keep going post-OoW/DoN. A few questions for those that have played EQ past these expacs (this is the first time I've ever made it to OoW etc).

What standout expansions are there going forward, if any? Any absolutely must see raids going forward?
Are there any God-awful ones? I've heard Prophecy of Ro is absolute dog shit?
How bad is the keying, and keeping up with different systems as the game goes along?

For reference, my time allotted to playing the game is raid logging and having enough kronos to, for the most part, keep up with BiS items. It's pretty damn minimal. I'm trying to weigh whether getting my monk's 2.0 is even worth it if I'm going to have minimal time to play over the next two months - if I keep playing, that is.

Sorry for this existential ass post, haha.

The standout expansions coming up in order of appearance are:

1. Depths of Darkhollow - you explore and underdark expansion with great models/graphics, you fight Mayong and you get Demiplane which is the first big jump in real raid complexity.

2. The Serpents Spine - A massive expansion with two full raid prog lines and two end zones. This whole thing is like a love letter to classic EQ complete with Gnolls, Orcs, Dragons, Giants and Zombies. 10/10 expansion.

3. Secrets of Faydwer - Two major end game raid zones, and amazing battles with Meldrath and Kerafyrm (The Sleeper). Great raids, 10/10 expansion.

The downside is you need to get through PoR which is just pure dogshit start to finish and The Buried Sea which is pretty fun but it’s like one week worth of content stretched for 8-12.

Honestly every EQ fan owes it to their self to do TSS and SoF at least once. It essentially caps off the old storylines and they’re incredible expansions that have the old school feel.

What guild are you in?

Definitely get your monk's 2.0. The 2.0s for many classes last for a long-ass time. DPS classes, Monk/Zerker especially, basically double in power with their epic 2.0. The next expansion has an item that upgrades the 2.0 to make it even stronger, so it'll continue to be BIS for months to come.

Other than the 2.0 (which is becoming less and less toxic as the weeks go by and people get their Kaiaren shit over with), one could easily get by with raid-logging. Perhaps buy a Ferocity V item and a Cleave V item if you're missing either of them.

Seconded that TSS and SOF are both incredible expansions that everyone should play once (and Teek is a good place to do it). Try to make it to those, and stick around for SoD if you like muramites. It'll be tough to spend 8 weeks each in PoR and TBS, but raid-logging and playing with people you like will make even those weak (or in TBS's case, just content-short) eras easy enough to cope with.

What Zaide said. I used to be in the pre oow is the best camp but honestly my favorite raids are all post PoR. Solteris in TBS is a lot of fun, TSS is great, SoD is great but gets kind of boring halfway through. Underfoot is probably my favorite. HoT is also great but had some rather annoying encounters that sort of spoil an otherwise good expansion to me. I havent played past that.
