brave newbies sounds like they are getting a lot of love lately. From what I've read they are mostly pvpers but they are friendly to the uninitiated at least. I've only ever run small time mining ops in low sec space so I think I might look into them when I resub.

If you want to solo.
If you have an alt, i'd say go low sec, around black rise, guristas space. Do some exploration for isks and some pirating for fun. Skill your alt for cov ops then for probing falcon, use it as salvager too, those tech II and tech III wrecks around factionnal warfare fights can be juicy isks. Though, it's harder and harder to get decent 1v1 pvp, it is still doable.
Exploration in low sec was very rewarding, complex invul fields were selling like candies. Dunno with rubicon, since they added lower tier sites in low sec, but 4/10 guri complex is doable with a pvp enyo, 5/10 requires some time and a better ship but is easy, same for 6/10. 4/10 used to drop gila bpc and c-typ stuff, i was selling the c-type invuln field for 800 m. I was focusing on combat sites, hacking and salvaging sites for slow days only, dunno how it is now. You can get some escalation missions from exploration, they can lead you to 0.0 on final mission, quite cool. Plus, when you know what you're doing, you can have some pvp in exploration sites, wait for the carebear to enter said complex, wait for him to almost complete it, kill him and loot his wreck, then finish site. Often, they come back for a revenge, quite amusing.
For pvp roam black rise, always some people in those factionnal warfare sites, just equip some cheap fregates or destroyers and go have fun.
I am second in command in diplomacy in brave newbies, i have blast flying with them! Some times comms are terrible but it is usually fun!
4/10 guristas/serpentis for sure. Higher tiers might be tankable but you'll lack dps.
yeah I really want to try doing something other than flashing at space rocks, even though I found it oddly enjoyable. I originally started playing years ago with some friends intending to PVP, but they just started training ship and piloting skills so they could get into the biggest ships as fast as possible. This naturally lead to them losing a ton of isk getting killed and rage quitting fairly early. I hear the FCs in newbies do a pretty good job of wrangling their noobs and making the experience decently fun.

You don't need a CD key to play the game, just a paid account, which that starter pack does not provide. So, no. It is basically a $1 to CCP.
No the starter packs do come with 30 days of game time when you upgrade a trial, which I was planning on doing anyway for an alt account. I just wondered if the skill implants were worth anything either as isk or an implant in general
All accounts get 30 days free game time when you upgrade a referral. It's literally the same deal. Stop trying to spend money stupidly.

so how much does it cost to upgrade a trial to a subscription? $15 for thirty days? $5 for 30 days on steam? $1 for thirty days in amazon? I don't really understand how you aren't getting this. I'll be more specific I guess: $0 for 14 day trial + $1 upgrade of said trial into a subscribed account < $4.98 copy eve on steam + $0 14 day trial. That still looks a little tough to process, I can simplify it more if you need me to. Feel free to pm me if you have any more trouble with math, like how many quarters you need to put in the tampon machine to stem the flow of that excruciating period you must be having today.

Mobile depot is a nice addition, was not convinced before testing and changed my mind. Any recon/techIII using a plated setup is again viable for long roams or deep 0.0. Also, lol stratios ... 720 dps on agile cloaked cruiser

Broke down and resubbed my account heheh. Wonder how fucked i'm going to be tho from not finishing the BC skills and whatnot before they made racials mandatory. Any changes to Legions in the last year or so?
You can now refit subsystems in space, which is fantastic if you live in a wormhole! They also changed the reqs for all T2 guns to make them easier to access, although if you're already in a Legion, I doubt that's an issue.

Yeah I have t2 guns on but most people would probably say I shouldn't be flying a legion with my skills where they are heheh.
