I think it's fair to go from EQL devs were likely involved in THJ shutdown -> disappointment the the THJ ripoff they produced is some totally different type of game. Especially after the initial billing made it seem like that was the intent.

Everything ive seen implies the ousted THJ devs were just a lot better at this than the new guys. Doesn't mean this new server won't be enjoyable. Most EQ emu are to some extent. But it's a bit of a bummer the old guys were cut off right as they hit stride. I liked their brand of the game.

Man reading through that thread is eye opening. You know why no one can compare Classic THJ to Classic EQL?

It DIDN'T EXIST. Kunark was in at launch. You beat naggy+vox and you unlocked Kunark so there was a threshold, but there's literally no comparison.

Also a lot of those posts are about people consuming all the content too fast and just twiddling their thumbs until Velious. It's obvious a slower paced server would be better, but the fact it has a sub tied to it gets so much (possibly rightfully) flak.

Don't worry, that probably makes up 70% of the actual EQ base and probably 90% of DPG's funding because they don't use kronos for their account and forget to turn off their credit card billing long after they quit.

I played during beta and classic. I ran CLR/ROG/BST. I spent a bunch of time grinding in the hole. With enough MR you can do fear. I think I was using dual painbringers or CLR summon hammer + painbringer.

Since ROG could skip everything my routine near the end of classic was, Nag, VOX, Yael, Fear Golems, Draoliche, and then burn all cooldowns to burstdown CT before he summoned everything,

EQLegends is like a car crash where i know the driver of said car is an annoying tranny. Watching them fail is the fun part of EQLegends.
