That's actually fucking hilarious. It's like they really don't understand what made THJ so popular.
What we have all been saying and it is looking more true by the day.

Pretty clear this is an echo chamber of negativity. Its not THJ, therefore its bad. Its _______, therefore its bad. Sort of not worth posting here anymore. The AEing entire zones in THJ was fun for sure, but it was also mandatory. You HAD to be able to kill 48 rats or all of Nadox on cooldown + pull time just to get enough AA's to be "ready" for raid content or get the augs you were putting in every slot. I don't know of anyone who was AEing zones before max level and even then you had to get the right gear/procs/AA's to be able to do it. It was fun, sometimes, but it also became a chore. Nadox especially blasting the entire zone for a CHANCE at a good aug you got every 3rd zone round-up while getting little to no AA or being AA capped at that point. It was nice being ABLE to do it, but it was less nice being FORCED to do it to save time.
I think they see that shit and try to find a fix to the problem, but don't quite hit the mark in their solution. Capping target's at 8 is just a way of telling people they don't have to level an AE class as a mandatory grind mechanic. Is that a good way to do it? I honestly don't know, but the people who love pulling whole zones and blasting them will be pissed, but now the fomo's won't have to worry about leveling Clr/Brd/Wiz or some shit to try and "keep up".
Also, as stated 300 times before, did ANYONE play Classic THJ? I'm legitimately asking. I've gone through the THJ channel and most of the people talking then aren't posting here and there's 0 media about it. I do know things people humm and haw about like spell power didn't exist in Classic THJ, but I still would like to get a gauge from a person who has an actual 1:1 perspective.
And no, don't tell me about leveling in Guk when you started playing during Velious. That is not the same thing.

Just play it and have fun with it. Or don't. I am liking it, and it is very different from THJ, but it's very much in the same vein. Be 3 things. Go kill shit you never could solo in EQ. It may take a few days to go from 1 to soloing Sky, but everyone can get there. Next update should make +1-4 solo a lot better.Pretty clear this is an echo chamber of negativity. Oh, I get that. Lots people don’t seem to.Just play it and have fun with it. Or don't. I am liking it, and it is very different from THJ, but it's very much in the same vein. Be 3 things. Maybe you should cry some more.Oh, I get that. Lots people don’t seem to.
Goodbye little bro. We'll miss the hard hitting commentary like "hey this might be fun, I think BRD will be popular" from someone who didn't play THJ nor EQL.Sort of not worth posting here anymore.

People, including me, are still butthurt about THJ not being allowed to violate copyright in perpetuity. A few of the folks being loudest in this thread were the ones trying to claim THJ devs were going to win big when that was obviously never going to happen.Oh, I get that. Lots people don’t seem to.
There's people who don't like EQL's choices, people who just want THJ 1:1 back, people who hate DPG, and people who hate life and are always miserable and must make people suffer as well. They're all present here. Some of those are fine, but are like weird boomertism culture war buttpussy hurt outrage.People, including me, are still butthurt about THJ not being allowed to violate copyright in perpetuity. The ones that are playing the beta have their own thoughts and preferences. We have at least one Lumi level thinker who isn't even playing, but trying to chime in.

And yet those butthurt basement dwelling autists won't go away, lol. There's people who don't like EQL's choices, people who just want THJ 1:1 back, people who hate DPG, and people who hate life and are always miserable and must make people suffer as well. Not to say there's not the "I love EQ and can't wait to be an elf in Kelethin!" type that permeates through EQ who's just as bad in different ways. They offer no criticism, applaud everything, and end up playing the game for like a week and tossing it aside to play some 33% off steam games to 1/4 completion on an endless cycle of casualism that ends up fucking dad gamers and nolife gamers alike.
Bottom line is wait for open beta, play it, then purchase it or don't. The EQ player spectrum is wider and dumber than the Autistic Spectrum with more than considerable overlap.
Yup. I was gonna wait and see, but got in last week. I did the naked lizard ssf brdcuck and had 0 problems getting to 50 with a disgusting amount of plat in the bank. While that is fun, it may be too fast based on them planning to take 6 months to get Kunark out. I will have all 16 classes leveled and probably decently geared out before the game goes live. That's about 2-3 months' worth of content. At that point I will unsub until Kunark is out at the very least. Might go play on TLP, might not. There's people who don't like EQL's choices, people who just want THJ 1:1 back, people who hate DPG, and people who hate life and are always miserable and must make people suffer as well. You must be new here........And yet those butthurt basement dwelling autists won't go away, lol.

Yeah, that content release schedule does seem to be a problem.Yup. I was gonna wait and see, but got in last week. I don't think that's really what this is about.People, including me, are still butthurt about THJ not being allowed to violate copyright in perpetuity.
Like with all things in life the truth is probably a little from Column A, and a little from Column B. Copyright holders with less income operate mostly on plausible deniability to maintain their copyrights, only acting when they literally have to. Otherwise they could easily have them stripped by not actively going after infringements. Copyright lawyers cost money. THJ and its biggest fans made two huge mistakes. They called attention to people playing THJ instead of that year's TLP, and they charged money for it. That made them an ideal target for a takedown.I don't think that's really what this is about.
Everyone understands the obvious point that you can't just ignore copyright law forever. That was never the revelation here. The funny part is that DBG seemingly didn't care enough to even notice THJ existed until Tranny McTrannerson, Captain RMT, and a certain subset of terminally-online hall monitors completely melted down that their tiny, insular ecosystem of 1,500 EMU poopsockers got steamrolled by people outside their little cloistered community.
So naturally, instead of adapting or accepting that maybe their self-appointed kingdom wasn't as important as they imagined, they did what these types always do: ran straight to the principle, clutching their pearls about the seniors cutting class, having fun, and not taking their grades "seriously".
The whole thing comes off less like some principled defense of intellectual property and more like a group of bitter gatekeepers getting absolutely devastated that outsiders showed up, outperformed them at their own weird niche hobby, and shattered the illusion that they were the chosen elite of elf simulator mountain.
