Honestly getting why people say that. If the moderation on discord follows into the game.
I do feel I should make sure to give proper information though. I got in touch with the lead mod and apparently the clown wasn't the reason I got silenced for a week.
Apparently posting how Vanilla models riding mounts looks like trash and responding to the mod that silenced me with a clown about AoE's only hitting 8 mobs was being toxic.
The clown was just the tipping point. If I knew we weren't allowed to call things that look like trash, trash then I still would have done it but now I know criticizing the way something looks is being toxic.
This actually is making me wonder how bad moderation for the game will be. I wasn't attacking anyone simply calling how bad vanilla models look and how bad being able to AoE only 8 mobs would feel and apparently that's toxic.
Also if someone jumps in my DM's and then gets their feelings hurt for being swore at they can suck my dick

I definitely agree to be wary, but EQ was made by a fucking junkie, so having someone who is open about their mental illness making a rehash is... par for the course with the eqemu scene. I am still having fun, but I totally get it if you aren't and don't want to see how things shake out.

There is no mystery, it will flop. They might be able to brag about it being the most popular EMU/TLP but it will be short lived and have no staying power. I’d also wager their “Most popular TLP” is still less than THJ had.

When I first started playing on Quarm with my friends and family, it didn't take long until we noticed in the discord from the devs and mods complete power-tripping, deranged, and sociopathic behavior out of them. This showed itself over and over again directly and through the grape-vine of others. It was even evident in just their common day to day speech a lot of the time. Ironically in their full-frontal facade of make-believe equality and diversity which they pretend to advocate and uphold, given their "power & position" in their little fiefdom of control, they become the first in line to suppress dissenting views of any kind and it was quite apparent they relished being the ones throwing the proverbial books unto the fire whenever they could. It was clear to us they got off on timing people out and even more so just downright banning them. I could care less how they choose to live their personal lives, but this self-righteous attitude went well beyond unnoticeable and tolerable. It was so clear to us by the time we quit playing that it wasn't about all of the changes we thought were nonsensical, if not downright ridiculous, it was more about their character and behavior as human beings that made us depart from it. It's a shame the TAKP devs ended up releasing their source code, because as soon as they did we knew the #1 grifter in the emu community would pounce on it and sure enough they did.
Fast forward to this new project and it's relatively the same team, only the circumstances of how it came to even transpire seems to be likely some of the shadiest opportunistic manipulative weasel-like greed infested ego-maniacal shit storm imaginable. It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination either to hypothesize what probably happened with the downfall of THJ and subsequent lawsuit that led to this new server coming to be, especially given who is directly involved with it now. I've seen some hypocritical bad faith behavior in my lifetime-- but as far as the gaming community goes this is up there on the tippy-top of the pyramid.
There's no question in my mind that this group has been running RMT markets on the emulators and TLP's for years and years before this project even came to light. I'm sure it was always part of the plan to get onboard with DB in any form or fashion they could. THJ seemed to present the perfect opportunity for this to happen. I can't imagine the level of jealousy and spite that was being harbored against THJ while it was ongoing by one person in particular. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people are going to be duped by them into believing it's just some "passion project" with nothing but good intentions behind it ran by upstanding individuals. But honestly to me, it couldn't appear to be the exact opposite of this and it looks more like just a sanctioned and legal way to run their 'black market RMT operation' out in the open once and for all with corporate blessing and milk it for all it's worth. From what I gather thus far, even the game mechanics seem to be incentivizing ways to keep you playing and paying. I'd venture to say they've fantasized many a times over the years of how to profit from this officially if they could. Well, now is their chance I suppose. As far as I see it, extraordinary frauds and hypocrites on an S-tier level.

I mean while I make tons of jokes about mcquaid being a junkie, Its hard to argue that he wasnt a literal badass when it came to what he created and made come to fruition. I wouldnt dare compare him to someone who is literally just taking his parts and making something new and less compelling in general from it. And dont get me wrong, while I am criticizing secrets right now, its able to code, and I actually think its a good idea that ( i dont want to look up the preferred gender) is a part of EQ live because whatever the fuck daybreak has been doing for the last x years has been pretty fucking trash in my opinion.
Secrets is however just a pawn in this shit, because daybreak is going to be the element that will fuck this up, and the proof comes in a different way.
The proof isnt going to come at first, it will come later. Much like when you go on a date, and you find this woman who says shes a christian, and a virgin. She wants to wait until marriage for the moment, and wants to get married somewhat soon. Well...the truth is shes sort of shifty about when she wants to get married, and it seems to be based on some sort of circumstance ( financial viability). Whatever, you are locked in at this point, why turn back now? You are committed. Eventually after a series of shit tests where you have to purchase something in order to continue the relationship she urgently wants to get married. You spend big on that wedding. You made it, you get some fresh clam FINALLY.

This is all just a 5d play by the true devs to get their biggest emu competition to rmt while in the official sphere so they can slam them with hard evidence, confiscate the best emus, and release the REAL thj clone along with some classic only servers in a year.

Definitely a possible outcome. The 6 month delay for Kunark is definitely a bad play. The game as is doesn't have 3 months worth of content, so unless it is hella fun you won't see people staying subbed the entire time between xpacs. That's not really a bad thing for the customers, though. FFXIV has that down to a science, and it is designed that way.
If the core game is fun enough to play everything to max level and max AAs. It will be good for a month or two every xpac. Or wait a few and come back. Much like how the TLPs have become.
I'm having fun still and learning new shit. Now that I understand how /advloot works I realize you don't even need bag space. You can automagically sell everything for plat on the go.

First time with Tranny involved mods? I'm banned from a lot of main subreddits, some of them automatic bans if you post in one of their 'enemy' subreddits.
In EQ2 they lost a big chunk of their already limited pop on the TLE servers when they banned our raid guild leader and a few others for 'negativity' on Discord when they were offering useful ideas.
