On TLP you can make alts to hold other bullshit they're forcing you to have only 1 character what's your defense for that?
I'm not making the game. Ask the devs if you want an answer on that.
You defend buying bags with no other way to get them.
I accept the reality I live in. You can always wish things were different, but if you don't have the power to change them you're just pissing into the wind wasting time being butthurt over it. If it was a huge issue for me I would just stop playing and go play one of the dozens of other games out there.
What do you think bags are some sort of status symbol?
Do you have some sort of reading disability? I've stated they are a QOL item. It makes storage and sorting a lot easier. That's it. For me that is a very useful thing.

I can tell some of you live in the suburbs and not a city. When the homeless man talking a mile a minute keeps yelling at you, you just ignore them, not try to debate them.

Will be great on launch -> People will hit grind endgame and quit -> Since its a forced sub people won't come back as easily -> Swap to F2P with selling motes in cash shop similar to other games. For me I am ok with it because there really isn't a lot of games doing this (Officially) Solo style MMO, and since its EQ I am a sucker for it. The only other time I subbed <I quit subbing during GoD, and played on test> for EQ was Mischief server since it was doing things different enough to warrant a cost. So basically the same to me.

I asked a friend of mine who only played EQ2 and was looking at a game to play and she turned it down simply because they never played EQ and a Box + sub cost was too much to invest to test to see if they like the game. No, they aren't poor.

It sucks they didn't go buy to play route with cash shop all around. If they went GW2 route they could continually sell Kunark for years <Same way you buy Heart of Thorns today> I think they would have made bank with it, but it is what it is.

I think one of the concerns I have is that the forced sub will stifle the available community. I know its a dead horse but exactly what I think hurts Agnarr and maybe other TLP's over time. Surely they can create a different (probably better) revenue stream. Depending how you like to define community...its incredibly important to EQ and any online game for that matter.

Logging onto a dead server really sucks especially in EQ where most of the community like groups, guilds, and an active economy. I'm not saying that the server will experience a stable population from opening to 3-5 months after launch but its the ebb and flows of the community that I think DBG underestimates. EQ players get the itch and I don't know how many times people would go in and out of a server if its available without a pay wall. I would much rather pay to make my experience unique with cosmetics, mounts, etc. than paying to make the most basic version of that experience available.

Keep the door open and people will invest at this point in EQ's life over time. In my opinion its much more attractive to have an active population and then make sure money from that larger pool of players.

The limited amount of content will kill subs after 1-2 months more than anything else. Get to Sky. Farm it until your brain bleeds out. Quit until Kunark. Even me with my autistic determination to unlock all the classes and races and AAs will run out of things to farm after 2-3 months.

Ive said before sub is dumb. Maybe DBG pushed for it?

Have no price just a shop.

Have a low box price, but no sub and with a shop.

Have a box price and sub but no shop.

But to have all 3? Crazy.

Honestly 1 would fit this type of game better, not like the other options stop the greed in a shop. But either first or 2nd.

The last 2 for this type of game, at least early in its life is dumb. I cant see how the population just drops like a rock after the first month when the 30 days with box ends.

This comment explains so fucking much.

It's not that you want to pay for bags you're just to autistic to go without EQ.

Bro it's okay you can let go your life will be better.

Indeed, I can and have moved on to other games and enjoyed them as well. That's why I can approach EQL without it being some weirdly emotional thing like it is to you and some of the other folks in this thread. If I didn't enjoy this game I would be able to articulate why, rather than trying to make weird appeals to emotion or personal attacks. But I am enjoying it enough to be willing to put a little bit of time and money into it for now, and when I have finished what is available I will unsub and do other things until more content gets released.

It's not a perfect game, but depending on what you prefer in mmos it can be fun.

As true as this is, and I believe every word of it. I still think EQL has a better long-term financial outlook than MnM.

Maybe I'm just wrong and I don't understand their financial goals but I'm assuming they want that spike of revenue from the box sale.... which is fine for me... but I still think they'll have a better long-term flow of cash with a shop rather than a sub. I'm guessing with subs you can forecast and report more accurately. However, the only opportunity to make money from your playerbase is IF they choose to sub. You stand a greater opportunity if you have a larger pool to fish from. I hope at some point they make a change and maybe once it goes through its first cycle of drop off, they'll make an adjustment.

I'm going to play the 1 month for certain... I've most definitely paid for less/worse but they need to get a lot of things right and really provide value for the sub for me to keep it going past the first 1-3 months. There are just too many other things coming out. FF Resonance, Star Fox, Valheim 1.0, and Ocarina of Time remake... plus a lot more if I have the time. Its the most excited i've been about Summer - Winter gaming probably in years.

I dont know if eql will suck but this thread sure does. What the fuck is the big deal with bags for cash? Practically every game on earth sell cosmetics, bags, and similar for cash now. Live eq is like the exception to the rule with all the big bags on achievements and raid chests.

There isn't a huge deal. What there is, is particularly stupid retards that don't like others enjoying something they don't like (Hey fuckwit Mrniceguy Mrniceguy , im not paying nor playing you absolute spunktrumpet), so they feel the need to make themselves feel better, by putting others down. A tale as old as the internet.

I look forward to the salt react, or maybe even a retard one! :trump:

I think his issue is they're basically triple dipping? You're paying a box price and subscription, and yet that's still not enough for you to have all the content, so they're doing micro transactions on top of it all. Even for a brand new AAA game that seems like a stretch, but for this? C'mon now.

It reminds me of when the first game (Starfield maybe?) came out at $69.99 and I said that if everyone decides this is acceptable, well, don't be surprised if every game from here on comes out at that price point. And sure enough, now new games are all $69.99 or even $79.99. You can convince yourself it's inflation, and yet, if you rejected that pricing model, you'd be paying $50-60 for new games right now.
