The simplest way to nerf slow is to merely put a mitigation on bosses which is a mechanic that has existed since PoP. Anything that was immune to slow in real EQ should mitigate slow here.

Also guys, please understand that AC caps are a thing and that all the AC you see on armor does almost nothing after an easily reached threshold.

Mitigation is too opaque - changing the actual magnitude of the spell & requiring a higher level spell (more mana) for higher level enemies is cleaner.

This go-around I hit soft cap at level 32 (no farming gear for levels, just progressing and being choosy about items. There are a couple different AAs that raise AC mitigation and avoidance caps and they aren’t useless.
I ended up prioritizing HP and Mana over raw AC and it’s better.

If I remember correctly didn’t everything pop on basically resist or reduce slow anyway? This becomes moot in a few expansions.

Solo'd sky for the first time last night. That place is an absolute joke compared to OW Sky or Multiplayer sky. Absolutely fucking cakewalk.

The 3 man 250k charming Cazic Thule my group and I did earlier that night, however, a bit more difficult.

I literally decompiled the old clients so I know the exact logic of old EQ's armor caps and wrote the combat logic for TAKP, but anyway

Looking at their UI numbers it seems they have fairly generous overcap returns. Eyeballing it on my paladin it seems to be about one seventh. This is unlike real EQ where AC was strictly hardcapped until Luclin. Although you're still going to want to wear gear like a tranix crown and leatherfoot sandals for resists over AC because MR is so important here, but you may want to swap out for bosses where it isn't.
