Unfortunately this. I don't understand how these devs took the marching orders of "profit off THJ's success" which was essentially just leaving the game alone and making you a god with "just" enough challenge to make it fun solo, and are actively disassembling everything that made it great.

They're trying to create a niche inside a small niche and what you're going to end up with is a group of 50 white knights (3 or 4 of them are on this thread daily, high-fiving each other over every excuse they make up to explain the dev's decisions) circle jerking in secrets custom rainbow bazaar about how much fun they're having and how spending hundreds to thousands of dollars is justified because they're having fun!
Literally everything can be done for free on eq test server too. Unless you are horrible at boxing, you can do all this with no cheats for free on eq test and get big bags and everything for free.

I just don't get the appeal of this, unless you can't box 3 or 4 on test

Exactly the point of THJ and Legends: I really do not want to multibox. Multiboxing is always a bit stressful to a certain degree depending on your setup and the software you use. I do not want to watch 4 screens or have 4 little screens on my main monitor and the effort to maintain several chars, the macros involved, keystroke echoing, "why is the bard LD?", "why is did the cleric fell down?" and all that stuff, I get why people like that, really, but to me I just want to solo through the EQ content and have a good time and I do not want to interact with the kind of people I played this game 26 years ago, too. If that isn't going to happen, fine. But why people get a serious mental breakdown if someone creates something like THJ, Ascendant or Legends is beyond me. Ignore it, if you don't like it. Live and TLPs won't go away.

The hilarious thing is, they can't just ignore it. They're compelled to bitch and moan and make sure you know they disagree.

That's fine too. It makes for easy game fact checking them when they go full retard. Double bonus is that since they won't be playing, they won't be dragging the game down with their obnoxious bullshit.

The game isn't perfect, but it is a lot of fun. The triple class feature really is the secret sauce. Longevity is going to be their biggest hurdle. They really do need to make more content their #1 priority, because the current grind loop is going to rough to convince non-autists to do over and over. There needs to be 5-6 different zones to grind in for every level range, and more at max.

I am definitely going to buy some bank bags and maybe some unlocks, but that's it. Might be an additional $100 at most, but that is nothing compared to what I have dropped on TLPs, or THJ even.

You sir are part of the problem.

Tossed em a $20 to get my feet wet. Haven't EQd in 10 years. Having fun, will probably play a month or so at release then back to POE. Might even give em some extra $$ for a couple bags. I'm not a poor MMO neckbeard so I couldn't care less.

So I remember on TLP being able to set certain things to automagically loot or whatever. I'm looking at it now, probably a bit late considering I've leveled so much, but I really don't understand any of what I'm seeing (or perhaps not seeing as the fonts are so tiny).

Like what is the difference between auto depot and always depot? I know early on I took a second to randomly try some of the buttons and for awhile I had stuff going into tradeskill depot automagically, but then eventually it stopped working.

What is this whole filter thing about? I know it used to be the place you went if you accidentally set up something to auto loot in TLP land and later changed your mind, but I seem to have nothing in there and I see no way to put anything new in there.

Friend showed me. Basically you loot an actual item and pick it up and drop it in the filter window.

Huh? Just right click on the item or any of the 5 selectable options and tell the system to automatically do loot/merge/store/or sell

Ya its pretty sweet autoselling all the bear asses and rat dicks. Might not even need a bunch of personal inventory space.
