They said they are going to add ways to unlock loadouts and deities and more storage slots. How much of a slog that is to be remains to be seen. I always knew I would be buying bags to make inventory management easier. Like I said, I have done that in EQ and THJ, and it's not a big deal to me at this low of a price point. Honestly, their planned marketplace has very few things that aren't already available via other means, and have announced they plan to put ways to obtain most of the rest.

You can be as butthurt as you want to be about the game. Get as many personal attacks in as you want. It doesn't make your opinion any more relevant, nor does it make your arguments any more compelling. Quite the opposite.

I agree the one character per server thing is not optimal, but it is a business decision they made. The loadout system does actually make it a non-issue. You are never locked into a specific build. You have some limitations on your first playthrough, but once you hit 50 and start farming sky all of that goes away pretty quickly.

I am enjoying the game, and will play it as long as that remains the case. If it stops being fun I will stop playing. Doesn't need to be any deeper than that.
Look man, I'm happy for you. We are (almost) all happy for you. We hope you have a blast.

Foh posters are the opposite of you and your experiences arent really relevant to most of us. You are a super hardcore player and spender that is super inefficient. Most of us want to be sweaty tryhards without spending and without playing at some absurd full time job rate.

When people shit on the game and its design, don't take it so personally. You and most of us aren't the same.

I don't take anything here personally. I totally get that a lot of people chasing the MMO dragon would rather play TLP or wish THJ was allowed to keep trucking. I don't mind people hating it just to hate it. All I am doing is posting what I am experiencing, and countering things that are factually wrong. I'm not emotionally invested beyond enjoying playing with folks I used to hang out with when EQ was in its prime. There are a lot already playing, with a lot more ready to dive in when it goes live.

The MTX conversation in particular has had a lot of people talking nonsense. It's not p2w in any way, shape, or form. It's 100% QOL for people who want short cuts or easier inventory management. I'm actually surprised they don't have actual useful xp pots like EQ does. Those are a big money maker for DBG. Charging massively for 5 AAs is.... one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. If you think I am a big spender, that's amusing. I am a large tuna in an ocean filled with whales and dolphins. And I spend less and less every year.

I might play more than you, but I am not hardcore at all. I am an AFKcore player. I may be inefficient at whatever your goals are, but I am happily efficient at what my goals are.

While I am positive due to having fun, I am aware that the game has some issues, including a lot that are self inflicted. One of the guys I am playing with was one of the devs for THJ. He is supporting the game because he wants DBG to do more projects like this. That is one of the reasons I am supporting it. If this bombs, and it might, then DBG is going to come down like a ton of bricks on all the eqemus out there. If it succeeds, it opens the door to DBG letting people buy actual licenses to do their thing with.

So if one wanted to send lizards and frogs directly to hell via area spells, what are the pros and cons of rains vs targeted vs point blank? I try them and colourful fire and snowflakes drift down and lizards go SKKKKkkkkkkkkkrrrrrrr or whatever sound they make and sometimes they fall over.

But I am not really sure which is best for just standing in a pack of 5 lizards and blasting away.

Some distant corner of my feeble mind remembers that rains had a certain number of targets they would hit, and having a pet would reduce that, or maybe reduce the number of times the rain fell or something?

The green targeted spells also hit yourself I think? My memory is unreliable.

Your memory on rains is correct but not entirely true here. Rains here still only hit 4 times max, but they will only hit hostile targets so you can use them in point blank range now without hitting yourself or your pet. That change is true for all targeted AOEs, like enchanters targeted AOE mez won't hit the enchanter here anymore.

Rains are super-efficient so definitely a good option with the downside being in a pack you aren't really burning one down quick.

I honestly don't understand the purchasable bag options. Items in bags, in your inventory, don't weight anything. So....why are they weight reduction?
