You'll notice i said the words "both clients" right in the very first sentence of the post. Aka the eql fork from live having the same pet aggro changes. Theres nothing to compare EQL aggro changes amd oddities to, as it never existed before.

Do you need a further explanation, or is this sufficient?
Holy shit man, you need to calm down. Me not remembering a zone has nothing to do with what you posted.

You can't even post in that Reddit thread calling it P2W. You get banned. lol

Yeah, I'm done with this game. It's not surprising Secrets can't take any criticism regarding their scummy tactics.
How has their skin fared after a seemingly very gentle caress of "Open Beta" & now official launch?

Thin like Tin or Thicc like Firiona Vie's Thighs and Bust?

In Runnyeye the mobs just come to you. You don't even have to pull really once you get deeper into the dungeon. Mobs just start appearing out of nowhere. lol

I am fairly certain there is an expanded aggro radius with each difficulty increase. D4 seems to aggro from miles away compared to D0.

I felt the difference going from D0 to D2 in SolB the other day. Anecdotal, but I'd believe it.

Still working on leveling my first trio to 50, currently 42 Pal/Shm/Ber. Character name is Aonea, still looking for a guild invite if we still have room in the Qeynos guild. Hoping to hit 46 soon so I can head into the planes and start getting real gear.

Yeah, it's definitely this. D4 agro range is significantly higher. Combined with the pet agro and the wall agro it can be a nightmare. Stuff just chains and chains and chains.

I also found the same with pets, if you lull the mob, but not it's pet, the pet is very likely to independently draw agro on you. It just acts like a totally separate mini mob in almost every respect.

Mistmoore used to be a train nightmare on live because the mobs would path insane directions to get to you. Specifically I recall mobs in the Gypsy musician room would try to run out the back of the room to path to you. One of many examples where it would draw a crazy train for straight forward things. The pathing now seems fine, it's just the wall agro and the pets that make it super broken. I was trying to do Lasna at 30 or so for the earrings and I think I died like 40 times before calling it. I would lull her room and the entire room next to her and the hall way next to that and it would still pull 5-8 every time. And as mentioned, they would insta path to you lightning fast and basically insta kill you. Shaking them taking weird angles and flying around corners is just not a thing here.

There really should be some good differences between 2h, Dual Wield, and 1h/Shield to make things interesting. It really does suck it's dual wield or bust.

Original eq was that way, and this game leans heavily on the emu/p99 design floors, so its kinda sad but unsurprising.

THJ got around this by handcrafting special 2hers for shd and 1hs for pally. Like the SHD epic for example I remember was BIS until like POP, hugely buffed. Also Bows for rangers were buffed. This plus AA like the pally ones where with equipped shield you did ass loads extra dam, it was prolly better than dual wield. But I never tested it vs dual wield or anything. All I know my SK did ass loads of dam with 2hers and pally with shield and 1hs.

Later since WAR was lagging behind, I think during POP, they buffed heroic strength. they were really active in the discord and listened to everyones gripes. I mean everyone bitches but they had OK balance in the end IMO.

Well except pet cucks, they were really hesitant on nerfing them. Prob because everyone had one and a shit storm would ensue. But yeah pet cucks were really the go to for the entire life of that server. It was just the easiest to play.

This is one of the areas EQL has failed. THJ had so many choices at the start from AA's to items that helped keep interest. Also much prefer THJ's loot system with the 4(?) tiers that really made you want to go farm those mobs to a legendary drop. Think motes will hurt the game as it will become a case of "where can i farm the most motes per hr" vs "I need to go camp this mob and experience the zone/game". Already see it in chat with people forming D4 befallen groups for mote farming.

Well I mean, I agree with you on some parts but THJ had its own set of problems. AA grind was a chore and you only had 1 zone to do it in in Velous and then one zone in POP. ( I started in Velious so dont know what the zone was in Kunark era) I also didnt like the legendary loot shit in THJ because it was, again, a chore to level up items. This was even worse in POP where the only zone you had was POF. These games always devolve into exp/hr or farm/hr no matter what game it is. I also didnt see too much of the world being used in THJ either. It was pretty much farm x/y/z raid mobs of the era. The rest of the world, like 95% of it was useless.

The only time I ever got out was when doing epic quests for the various classes. And that was fun as hell. I think you helped me on my first SK quest, If I remember right, beating some raid boss in CoM when I was still weak as hell, lol.

It was staying below level 50 and farming mobs in LGuk - because of the way EXP worked on the server against red cons. Also, there was essentially a "new player" EXP bonus that went away once you hit 50+.

I also dont even know what people are racing for anyway for this motes/hr BS. Kunark does not hit until winter so this is literally months of farming classic, lol. Besides its mostly a solo game anyway so why even race? Like for what? When Kunark hits its pretty much going to be a reset anyway since Kunark was a huge spike in equipment/weapons.

Also, for a box price plus a monthly fee they better add some custom shit and balance. I know its been only a few weeks since they released, but its been pretty fucking silent so far. I mean, im not expecting mounds of custom shit every week, but I would hope they come up with SOME shit here and there, maybe some more revamps with custom loot.

Id say its probably just an inherent characteristic thats been drilled into the head of a majority of people that play these games. Guilds instill that expectaction so that they can be productive raiding members that bring something to the table.

Like you said, theres really no reason for that here, but people are creatures of habit.

Roadmap has Rujarkian Hills opening next month, but as an overland zone I'm not exactly expecting that to be anything exciting. Fall has Nektropos Castle, which as far as I remember, was one of the extremely rare highlights of EQ2. 2 zones and another new race. And then Winter, is Kunark.

Shitty thing is, saying fall and winter could be pretty big range of dates though.
