I've been having fun, I got no stake in any argument about THJ, I really don't care, and never played EMUs except maybe the City of Heroes one, and my own PEQ servers like over a decade ago. They all just always seemed greasy & shady to me, just my opinion man.

I'm creeping up to 600 AA already, I leveled with an enchanter for charm, people that buy AA potions are dumb as shit, as you can just clear 1st floor of hate and reset for really fast AA. Grab a dragoon from 2nd floor, its hates broken charm mob no one talks about. Fuckers are beasts if you grab a mnk/ber version on d4. There's a couple spawns that are stronger than the others, I would just charm them instead when I noticed difference.

Rolling as an SK/MNK/SHM now that I'm geared up, and everything is far easier and faster than charm ever was. Pally being the meta is hilarious, I basically can't die, even oom, only toss a HoT on when its a boss, or I have more than 3-4 mobs (D4). Even HT is better than LoH now. I grouped with a pally and he was grumbling that he could take a mob or two, pal better at tanking blah blah, I FD and he imploded from the 5 d4 mobs I had threat on. Sure he probally sucked, but point stands. Fuck he was mad lol.

You really don't need to buy shit off the shop, unless you suck at organizing or are a hoarder. I bought some of the various inv expansions because I'm a fucking hoarder, and it was cheaper than the coffee & sandwich I get delivered every morning from the shop down the road. I got a buddy that still spends thousands and thousands on fucking dolls, lego, and warhammer shit, and apparently those are considered acceptable healthy hobbies to spend money on by a fuckload of idiots. I spend 20$ and the broke assed retards lose their minds. You want to hear about wasted money? How about those steam sales I'm a sucker for everytime, whine about that. I even bought fucking Pantheon lmao

I got no beef with Secrets or rest because I never played EMU's, all I know about secrets is they never made any drama about being trans here that I ever noticed, it was the retards randomly raging about it last couple years that made me aware of the fact. People acting like Manessa is making the fucking game, holy fucking shit.

DBG et all are lazy fucks the past 20 years, I don't care who gets credit, some of the improvements to this version are awesome. I can climb a fucking ladder normally in 3rd person now, how fucking hard was that to fix DBG? Swimming works great in 3rd person too, Kedge was actually fucking fun for the first time ever (fuck dem seahorses tho) Adv loot is actually advanced now. Bunch of little things like this I've noticed, that were still broken playing frostreaver few months back. Fuck live/tlp EQ, I'm never playing it again after this.

Can you fucking please ban Diet Tanoomba? JFC

Am SHM/SK/MNK, D3-D4 stuff is quite doable at 200 AA.

Expect to max out between 350-400 AA.

I can see low level mote/AA farming get massively nerfed.

Here's a build I'm considering trying out. Looks pretty damn strong. Never played a bard in EQ before so may have to give it a try.

The one thing I will say about the modern EQL client is, it will be hard to ever go back to anything without the advanced loot window / filters / autosell.
I got Triune installed last night. Their loot window is fucking awful. I can see how it will end up with the same filter system, but it doesn't close on its own or when you hit ESC.

I am down to 12 sky drops left before I have all the quests done. 9 classes done, 7 left to go. Then I do races and get everything to 50. I am already over 300 AAs without putting any effort into them.

Still need five items from Sky to complete. Will use my free class token for the last class. Finished all d4 raid bosses as rng/enc/shm. Switched it up to bst/war/dru(clr) last night. Looks like Bst pet is getting buffed tomorrow so good timing. Enchanter and shaman trivializes the game but nice to use to gear up. D4 content is so annoying without the enchanter cc though. My beta feedback of making mobs have a lower chance of rolling caster classes as their secondary fell on deaf ears. It’s more annoying than fun when the entire mess of mobs chain cast and have pets that cast. Can’t even really use quasi cc tools like fd, root, or snare due to that.

Interesting that you have SEQ kind of built in to the map now (right click the title bar and add NPCs / Tracking circle)

I'm playing super casual as I just got back from vacation, but my first goal is to do the Dark elf faction quests to unlock a bunch of classes as a stupid ogre :p

It’s really cool that selecting an npc from the tracking window will label that particular mob on your map too.

Last time I played "modern" EQ back like 10 yrs ago with my brother they had all this shit in the game. Except the SEQ tracking shit, the thing that shows the mobs on the map?. So they are prob using some modern client thats all modified and shit.

Patch Notes for tomorrow:

Mistmoore Castle Revamped
Mistmoore Castle has received a major upgrade!
In addition to named NPCs being guaranteed spawns, they now all have a guaranteed loot drop of a common or rare item with stat bonuses. While some of these items are familiar to explorers of the castle in years past, many are brand new. Some include exciting new effects ready for you to enjoy as they are or turn into exaltations.
All named enemies in the zone have now also been designated as rare creatures, vastly increasing their chances of dropping motes of potential.
Additionally, the residents of the main castle are now somewhat less aggressive and will not react to your presence from extreme ranges... during the daytime. Exploring the castle at night, however, will still be a harrowing affair once the castle denizens have shown their true forms.

Fractional UI Scaling & Cursor Scaling
The UI Scaling system now supports fractional ui scaling in .25 increments, ranging from 0.75x to 4.00x.
The Cursor now has its own scaling factor in the in-game Options (O).
A toggle now exists in the in-game Options (O) to use the Operating System cursor, rather than the in-game cursor.

Group Experience Bonus
Grouping will now give a small experience bonus as intended.

Gameplay
Increased the melee combat potential of Beastlord Warders substantially.
Fixed an issue where raid invites would fail in certain circumstances.
Non attackable NPCs can no longer multiclass.
Address an issue where NPC corpses could continue walking even after they have died.
Restored the original, Classic two-handed blunt animations to the game.
You will no longer gain skillups from skills you haven't used when riposting.
Creatures in the Plane of Fear and beyond should no longer fear or charm you so hard that you're unable to approach the game again for 24 hours.
Fix for players getting charmed, and then shrunk by the pet scaling option ingame.
Addressed an issue where NPCs would continue attacking each other after charm fades.
Fixed a bug where cleave wasn't working with 1HB weapons.
Updated the messages that appear while being stunned to clarify that you are now immune and that you are currently immune on subsequent hits.
Fix an issue where zone specific music tracks would skip over music tracks if environmental sounds were disabled.
Fix an issue where music would need to completely come to a stop before being able to resume the same track. The same track will now be able to resume the same sequence without having to fully have the track come to a stop.

Spells & AAs
Targeted area effect lull spells, such as Harmony, can now take effect on NPCs you have not engaged in combat.
Mounts that are obtained from AAs will now only grant the Mount speed when you are a valid class for using that AA.
Fixed an issue where a long (5-10 sec) recovery cooldown would fire if you used the Stop Action keybind with a Bard as one of your classes.
Fixed an issue where range checks on contact procs like Vampiric Embrace would not work properly on NPCs with large hit boxes.
The Lifespike spell has been moved from level 8 to level 5 for Shadowknights.
A new lifetap spell, Lifebite, has been added at level 10 for Shadowknights, and level 8 for Necromancers. This new spell has been added to the autogrant list for both classes, and to the appropriate spell vendors.

Zones & Population
The Wasps/Bees of Plane of Sky have seen had their stingers filed down while charmed.
The Wasp/Bee in Plane of Sky known as 'Murderbee' should be a bit easier to exterminate in solo instances.
Shimmering Meteors have also had their damage tuned downwards while charmed.
Snow no longer overwrites the zone's precipitation type, preventing rain from falling. Praise Karana.
Rain is no longer too small to see.
Many wild animals should now be friendly towards Kerran, similar to how they react to Rangers & Druids.
Monsters should no longer try to patrol through walls in Runnyeye.
Seplawishinl Bladeblight in the Ocean of Tears now has a considerably shorter respawn timer.
Fixed an issue where high level named monsters in Kedge Keep were taking an excessively long time to respawn.
Non-raid boss NPCs are now restricted from casting charm if they already have a pet.

Quests
The Soldier's Brooch quest in Rathe Mountains will now allow the player to choose their reward.
Updated the Torrid Corruptor final turn in to properly grant the quest completion title to some players that do not meet the 'lore' requirements of the quest.
Players are now given the corresponding Potential of the Void task when they enter a raid instance.
Upon entering a raid instance, all other Potential of the Void tasks are removed from the task list.

Items
Corrected an issue that allowed Player Illusions to be used as Pet Illusions.
As a result of this change, we have added a Conversion button to Guise of the Deceiver and Amulet of Necropotence that allows these items to be turned into a Pet Illusion version.
Bloodmoon now has the Focus Effect Improved Vampirism III.
Fixed an issue preventing Armor Ornamentation Tokens from working created from Cloth armor.
Copper Band now has +1 AC.
The Unholy Steed, Holy Steed, Abyssal Steed, and Valiant Steed AAs will now summon bridles, which can be used to summon the mount, instead of directly summoning the mount.
Fix an issue where various item animations (such as whips and bows) were not animating on attack.
Player pets are now prevented from equipping secondary-only items when they utilize a two-hander in their primary hand.

[continued...]
08/18/2026 continued:

UI
The search feature for spell inside the actions window has had its data expanded to be able to search many more fields.
Added UI Scaling to the server selection screen.
Fix an observed issue with spacing and scaling.
Fix an observed issue where windows would not keep relative position and not keep on screen when resizing or rescaling.
Adjusted inventory AC and weight labels to not include erroneous spacing.
Scaling now applies before character select so that loading screen also scales properly.
Fixed a Layout calculation bug that was causing the Actions window to produce graphical artifacts when shrinking the window vertically.
On fresh installations of EverQuest Legends, a value for UI Scaling is now automatically detected and used.
Changed UI Font Scaling to use dynamic re-rasterization.
The map window should now be more compatible with UI Scaling.
All context menus will now be fully kept on screen. This includes the spell list when you right click an empty gem.
The Personal Instance window now properly shows respawning/non-respawning selections correctly.
Fixed a display issue with the item inspection window that occurs after viewing an item that is convertible, such as the Gnoll Slayer item.
A batch of new maps have arrived for the Maps window.
Fixed a bug causing the Control Option 'momentary duck toggle' to not load its saved state.
Added a new Options toggle in Interface->general to use the Actions/Spells window instead of the spellbook for the "Open Spellbook" keybind, and the Book Button on your spell bar.
Added a button in the Spellbook to open the actions window to the Spells tab.
Added that same toggle option from Options in the Spellbook for visibility.

mistmoore a cool zone looking forward to the changes... lguk so damn boring doing it for 20 years on 20 different servers

anyone know what client they branched from? its like rof2 features yet other things seem way off... some of those changes are the same things they had to do to takp/quarm client... i bet secrets could quickly get an old client up to date on directx/32bit+/4gb+ shit pretty quickly, but why isnt this a more modern client idk... like they didnt want secrets to see their client code? maybe the server is even eqemu lol

This client is the same as the official servers and runs off the official servers. They're more or less using Game Jawns as an actual dev team and porting over their innovation here to TLP's/Live.

Bee nerf doesn’t change much for me as I’m still limited by the token recharge timer either way. However, with the bee I can do two boss rushes of the four bosses I need the last five drops from in less than 15 minutes which is kinda crazy.

Outside of charge timers being the real limiter, the only hard part of sky is figuring out how to do bees, which they're making easier. I'm ~3 class drops full unlocks and my enchanter is still level 10. It's VERY nice that it's not a raid lockout and you can do d0.

Have you found the free newb food yet? There is so really fucking shit balanced things they add. It's small stuff but if you wanna cheese the game, they made it a lot easier.

Edit: You hail NPCs(THJ Devs) in Ro for these. A bit overpowered for free items, you can get at level 1

When I brought up them porting features from here to there I got downvoted by like 4 dbg employees and Meeko said personal loot has been on their radar for years and it was all a coincidence.

Meeko, Klanderso, and Angelina proceeded to downvote a handful of other posts about potential bringing over other potential enhancements. Gave of the vibes that theres some animosity GJ was brought on at all.
