That's not really a relevant reminder, because everything in vanilla is basically the same. We started in the same timeline (kind of like WoW Forever), but it can change going forward. How does it make sense to go far into the past just for Kunark? I somehow doubt they will even bother to try explaining it.

Might not be time travel. Might just be that things turned out different in Kunark and the Sarnak and Iksar are both big and at war with each other.

incredible amount of cry babies and assumptions in here lol wtf?

seriously some of you guys are talking about lore? absolutely fucking gay.

every time secrets added a modded zone to quarm it was a hit... y'all are the minority. bro if i dont have to grind out seb again for hundreds of hours it will be a blessing. acting like every eqemu & tlp out there doesnt make you grind seb... so fuken glad at the thought of even a minor change to seb... think about how many useless zones there are in kunark... y'all have no idea, what if the major changes are promoting places like dalnirs and kaesora to higher levels. because you for sure wont be leveling there for reincarnation, you're autistic asses will be in lguk again for the 5000th hour.

I messaged this guy at some point and he said he just liked the name as a young kid who played back in the day and had no affiliation to the forum.

Little dipshit.

I enjoyed EQL and would enjoy running through Kunark for two months and getting epics. Sure sounds like they're going to try to fix what isn't broken, with a Kunark revamp. Terrible idea.

You're full of shit. Every time Secrets added a zone to Quarm is was a disaster. The literal only reason anyone participated was the 2x XP bonus that would always come with it. The pathing was always absolute shit and the zone was garbage. Every single time. Were you there when Secrets tried to make a new VP that was supposedly harder? We tested it by killing it all with no wipes and said it was fucking stupid. It was never actually implemented.

I think you all are vastly overestimating how much they will actually change it. It takes them months to just add a few named and update a few pieces of gear to existing zones without changing a single actual structural thing

I do hope they update the epics themselves, as lots of them will be pretty useless otherwise

I'm calling it now. They are going to drag out Kunark as long as possible to string it along. They've already said level 55 cap, so probably another 4-6 months to get the 60 cap. Worst of all, the thing most are looking forward to .. epics .. will be held back for months. People are bored as fuck right now and the population numbers reflect that. They need new content NOW. Not a drip feed months from now. This really had some potential, but their content pace is killing this game.

That's what i was thinking too. The entire continent is ruins, they would need to change everything.

That's where all you fucking retards were burrying your head in the sand when some of us told you what the fuck was going to happen.

This shit had a short shelf life, it was plain to see from the start.

If you expected this to be something you would play non stop in between updates or expansions you were seriously delusional. This was always a game that would keep people busy for 1 or 2 months top and that was it.

Think PoE, people will come back when a new season rolls out, this is probably what this game will be as well. But updates will come slow and probably won't be that good, so people will lose interest over time and we will see how many will come back for that new and improved kunark in 3 months.

Fact is, most people found this fun and got a solid month of enjoyment out of it, that's honestly proof the game wasn't shit and had something to offer.

Tbd if it can keep bringing people back over time, it certainly won't have a consistent high player base though.

Meh, never had any illusions that this was going to last for very long. Was just going to be a fun different way of running around the old stomping ground with essentially cheat codes activated. The only thing surprising is how then serious they now seem to be taking their "artistic license" for changing "the timeline" for a 30 year old game running with 30 year old graphics, instead of just taking the easy W with just letting people take trips down nostalgia lane without extra fluff. They were of course happy to keep "the timeline" at the start now, so this "rulers of kunark" crap just becomes a way to entice people in and then start messing around really deeply around the lore, alienating everyone they roped in. At least they offered an exciting way to speedrun the game for casual dads with the motes/trio system, not going the utterly lazy Blizzard way of offering no good casuals/nostalgia mechanics at all in their multiple "timeline restart" wow iterations.

They should have just kept Kunark vanilla with buffing some curated weapons and armor and released like 4 weeks in. Then make some changes to shit on the fly, maybe add in a new zone or some shit. This would have went a long way in keeping people playing since Kunark has so much shit from 1-60 and epics too. Goes perfect with the leveling of all the classes and shit this game has. Then do the same for Velious 2 months from then. Vanilla EQ is just not enough to keep people playing for so long, especially when people have this shit on memory farm and solved for the better part of a decade now with the prog servers.
