They just needed to release expansions in a timely manner for a success. The incompetence is astounding. The interest and initial population was there and THJ showed that you could retain a lot of people.
Oh well, jokes on them. There still is Triune for now.
The game runs on nostalgia, we don't want new zones. We want the same shit with QoL and being strong vs content. Throw in some new shit, just a sparkle suffices.
New content will drive the old school players away.
From looking at a stream today(there aren't many anymore) on Qeynos, there was about 678 in general. The pop is down obviously. WoW Forever will erode that number even more.
It's mind blowing they had the perfect blueprint for success (THJ) and somehow still managed to fuck this up. Getting people in the door is easy, keeping them is hard and getting people back after they leave will be impossible in most cases. New content somewhere in the distant future will not make anyone forget this abomination. WoW4life it is.
Watching this burn is almost cathartic if you ever took part on the discord trying to give suggestions or opinions.
It was an echo chamber.
"DON'T LIKE IT LEAVE"
"DON'T THINK THIS BAD IDEA IS GOOD DON'T BUY IT!"
Okay I won't. It's almost if you tell this to enough people it happens...
I do like that the community manager told people to do something else on the weekend when they were having problems instead of saying what was going on.
The best thing that they came up with was making you replay plane of sky arguably the worst zone in all of EverQuest on a loop for months on end.
Is this a surprise to any one.
