Yeah, bard and enchanter always seemed spaz to me. Maybe bard not so much with melody now. I did cleric through Kunark and then played mostly monk through GoD. Both were pretty chill. I'm not looking to slack but I never really played any other classes than those two, so was curious if there was better choices than necro or shaman for something useful but laid back, while at the same time being able to solo reasonably well when I'm not feeling social.

I appreciate all the feedback.
Bard was spaz as shit, melody does a lot to fix that. On the flip side, it also makes you much more likely to be incompetent at bard in difficult situations down the road, not that you are ever presented with many without looking for them in EQ. Melody is basically a powered scooter for EQ. Comit to using that and saying you're too disabled for anything else, and you're set.

If you want a super chill raiding experience, go rogue or ranger.

You literally aren't expected to do shit.

Rogues are retarded easy to gear, just stack resists with your sky belt and a good dagger. Ez clap.

Ranger can be in ivy etched till luclin and use their primal bow and still clap dps charts afk.

I'd say go rogue. If there's any class with very low expectations, its rogue. Rangers are sometimes expected to do shit, like pull or eat DTs. Nobody expects a rogue to pull (though they can do the job with throw.)

Deadly strikes make my dick hard, too.

Rogue gets asked to be main assist a lot. Can be a tough role if you need to ninja afk every so often.

i was asked to MA as both a Rogue and Ranger. I am still going with Mage on a Macro for ease. Nobody will say anything and you can graft your way to 50 pretty easily!

All you gotta say, is that you're new to rogue and don't know the kill order.

Nothing worse than a puller who has to go outside to smoke.

“afk 5 mins smoke” aka be back in 30

MAing as a rogue was pretty fun in certain raids. But you always had the knobs who just tabbed and attacked whatever. And then the MA gets blamed.

I remember on EQ Mac they made us wizards MA. They were cutting into my Deep Space Nine time!

I'm used to Rogues or Rangers as MA. Wizards might be a tough choice if they're mana dumping and then "medding".

The game of telephone that got us from the question of "What's the absolute laziest class to play that groups well? Cleric? " to suggesting making a Rogue is impressive.

Dude asks what to play that's low effort and can contribute to a group and people still posting shit about how he can scam a group into letting him do nothing.

I mean the non troll ez answer is 100% mage. Anyone else trying to rationalize something outside of a niche situation (afk bard allowed in group) is just wrong.
Rogue MA way to go, rangers have to occasionally buff or maybe taunt a mob or something random. Rogue just target and stabbity stab.

The answer is still wizard. You don't have to be a scam artist here, you can JUST be lazy, and you can do fine. With a mage you really need to pay attention and have your pet uptime high. With wizard you just need to make sure you are around enough to keep that mana bar from overflow and also pay enough attention that if you see multiple mobs in camp out of the corner of your eye maybe look away from the porn and drop extra nukes right now until it's down to just like 2 left.

You can play a wizard at like 10% effort and still do 95% of what a wizard giving 100% would be. A mage giving 10% is losing tons and tons of value because of bad pet management. A melee giving 10% is losing more than that just until autoskill is put into the game. A healer giving 10% is a dead group. Wizard is the answer. You have to do x amount of work but you are extremely flexible on WHEN you put that work in.

Seriously, some of these posts, man.

Low effort and can contribute probably = Mage or Wizard for the reasons specified above. Few responsibilities, lots of power, can contribute without much pressure.

Lol Somehow in just a page or two we went from people bragging about being a Michael Jordan of Everquest to people wanting to be The Mario Mendoza of Everquest.
