Fall 2014 Anime Thread

Apparently the manga for Parasyte is old as shit, like late 80's old. Really digging the subtle changes to bring it up to pace, like today's episode the father is sitting there with a tablet reading the news and stuff like that. Always good when companies get the details.

HxH should come around in about a year and a half with the (non spoiler) ending of the first set as a likely arc. So fucking anxious for it. One of my favorite animes so far.

Surprised nobody has said anything about Psycho Pass yet. Only caught the first two episodes but enjoyed them a lot.

I really enjoyed this week's Log Horizon. Akatsuki finally getting a chance to evolve, and seeing some of her "ninja moves" was neat. If only she didn't have to say them out loud. That isn't very ninja-like.

Akatsuki needs to fucking get laid so she'll calm down. But she won't because anime.

I was expecting a bit more out of LH that episode - i wish someone else did the action scenes they just seem so drab - That aside UBW was awesome as always.

I'm in the middle of Fate Stay Night. Going to watch Fate Zero next, then finish it off with UBW.

I wasn't a huge fan of this week's SAO, but it furthered the story I guess.

Weak combat showings in LH and SAO especially if you watched Fate UBW before those two. I'm still saving psycho-pass so I can marathon a few espisodes. That is probably my most anticipated anime this season.

The animation from SAO was top notch, UBW is just some of the best animation ever. Is that arc in SAO over? Seems ridiculously short.

SAO was ok. Though they really could have gone somewhere with that arc. LH is just meh to me at this point. There is just no suspense in the fights at all. That on top of the bad animation leaves you wanting.

I don't know if that arc is over. I was just saying that it seemed that way. And the next episode's title gave me some guess work. I'm sure people who have read the books could fill us in more.

What kind of powergamer is Kirito ? 'Oh no, the legendary weapon is too heavy to jump with, guess I will just throw it away and let some random scrub have it'.

They could have at least have him try and land it on the getaway vehicle instead of throwing it in the other direction ;p

No, we needed that scene so that the sniper could justify the entire GGO arc.

yeah arc is over, next one should be mother rosario (at least i got that from the ending of the last episode, when he was playing with the camera to allow yui to be ''present'' in the real world). Excalibur (and mother rosario) are not properly arcs but mini stories taken from the in between arcs from the lightnovels basically. Rosario going to be from what i recall quite action packed (fight wise), but also mostly centered around Asuna.

EDIT: ya the thing with the sword when he throw it away was horribly portrayed in the anime. From what i recall in the novel made much more sense, explaining in detail why he didnt keep the sword.

I don't know why I love cross ange so much but it is some funny shit.

You like the sudden "slap stick" of the guy falling into her box. I'm watching the show, but I think they throw the "porno type scenes" in just because. They don't do anything to advance the story.

Akame was awesome, Cross Ange is getting better than my expectations so thats good. I think Parasyte is still #1 with UBW right on its ass to me.

Vanadis or whatever is pretty good too, i liked it enough to read some of the manga. This is overall a pretty solid season for day to day anime.

you should give a look at trinity seven manga as well, i kinda like it more than vanadis (even tho i like vanadis as well). Overall for me, best 3 of the season id say parasyte, ubw and shigatsu. The rest tho arent that far away, as u said, this season really had tons of quality stuff.

That kind of humor typically doesn't do anything for me, which is why I don't understand my enjoyment. Maybe it is because the show is so over the top with it.

I finished Fate Stay Night today. Going to start up on Fate Zero soon enough. It was definitely slow for the first 5-7 episodes, but then picked up from there. I ended up enjoying it overall, but god damn was the beginning slow. I hear that's the slowest of the 3 series, which is why I wanted to get it out of the way first. I think I'll like Zero.
