For $180 it better have a fleshlight embedded on the underside.

I'd pay $60 for that at the absolute most. And even that's too much. It's a pretty gorgeous statue. $180 though? That's just taking advantage of a rabid weeb fanbase.

So this is going to be fully out... 7 years from now?

I think that's being extremely optimistic. Probably more like 20

Wasn't sure whether to spoiler this or not, lot of new info/clarifications about some stuff from Remake. Basically Max was way ahead of a lot of people in figuring out what they were going for.

TBH all of this just makes me less and less interested in this whole thing. Like he says, the theme of the original game is loss and dealing with it. This new version is just like "lol nobody has to have loss because random miracles lol" like we're supposed to be happy for the cast or something. All of the cross-dimensional time bullshit makes no sense and just gives the writers more ability to pull ideas out of their ass.

Yeah, it's gonna be 20 years of incomprehensible FF7 games with increasingly-idiotic titles that will ultimately leave fans unsatisfied.

There's a very real possibility that the people who played the original will be dead by the time S-E release the final chapter of VII remake.

Not really the sense I get from the direction they're taking, or where I think Max thinks they're going. I'd bet on them using all of it to make the players THINK they can get out of losing anyone, but it'll supposed to feel worse when they realize it has to happen...or we'll lose different people along the way this time. Now whether those are good things or potentially good things is another discussion, but I'd be surprised if they go the Mega Happy Ending where nobody ends up dead and Zack and Aerith can end up together, etc.

The Mega Happy Ending involves Cloud, Tifa, and a half gallon of Anal-Ease.

I disagree. The Mega Happy Ending involves Tifa, Aerith, a bed, and Cloud/Zack both dead

My guess.

Aerith still dies. Since this is a remake of the world after advent children, to defeat Sephiroth and actually ending him would mean Cloud has to die as well. Aerith could somehow discover this and tell Cloud about this from the lifestream after she dies. Cloud then sacrifices himself doing something related to the dimension/time stuff that they added. This causes Zack to take Clouds spot in the party since their moveset will probably be similar. Zack is then the one that defeats Sephiroth.

Doing that, the game will overall have a happier ending than the original preventing the long term extinction of the world, but at the loss of more main characters.

I could definitely see this happening, or Cloud dying instead of Aerith and Zack replacing him then. Either way I fully believe Cloud isn't long for this world. The devs definitely have a boner for Zack, and why even re-introduce him* if it isn't going to lead to big things for him.

* - I'm still salty about this because IMO it trivializes the amazing ending of Crisis Core. "Look, Zack is alive again for no reason! Woo hoo!"

The true happy ending is me and the voice actresses for Tifa and Aerith in a bed with a 50 gallon drum of astro glide and bucket of viagra

Why would Cloud have to die but not Zack? They both got Jenova cells.

True I guess. It's based on the short stories confirmed to be official lore between FF7 original and Advent children. Mentions specifically Clouds connection to Sephiroth. So long as Cloud is alive and remembers Sephiroth, he can always be reborn.

That might be due to the S-cell experiment with Hojo for the Sephiroth clones. Cloud didn't have the Jenova cells for Soldier until Hojos experiment after the events in Nibelheim. So might be due to that he is the only "pure" connection to Sephiroth, Zack already had the Soldier treatment before the additional experiment. Everyone else in the experiment had their S-cells diluted over time. Cloud suffered from Mako poisoning due to treatment and Hojo figured he would die as a failed experiment, but might have been the only successful one.

It's possible that there was something special about Cloud's experiment but I'm not sure if there's evidence for that?

I just got that Cloud was the last one with Sephrioth/Jenova cells.

Sephrioth can control people with the cells, as we see with Cloud, so I feel like Zack is going to end up being a Sephrioth Clone which we fight and he is revealed in Northern Crater as the proof of Cloud's deception (in the original it's a photo which makes no sense as it's an illusory photo, Tifa has to confirm it).
