Only played a few minutes of it yesterday but it runs great with everything maxed out. Only sadness is no Ultra wide support.

Max made predictions. He has been very right so far in saying that this series is a sequel and the original already happened (think he was among the first to go there after the completion of Remake). In the video above he also clips in where he was on the show Dropped Frames years ago and said that the next title would be called Rebirth. Cohh Carnage bought that url after the show for fun and ff7rebirth.com links straight to his Twitch channel.

Take aways from video where he goes through the recent press releases from the director(s).
- The games are separate. It's a trilogy of games, not one part. They even state that playing part 2 before part 1 would work fine.

- Part 3 is already in development.

- Max thinks that the game will open in Nibelheim with the flashback, playing with Sephiroth as a team. It will then lead into the "open" world featuring Cid, Golden Saucer, Wutai, Temple of the Ancients, etc.

- The reference where they compare the sequel to "movie sequels" makes him think of Empire Strikes Back. This is not a happy go lucky story so to speak. He also mentions that there is a reason the text is red. Which is obvious, it's not done at random because they think it's a pretty colour. People have though the game will end with disk 1, but he has talked about this before, and now he thinks this is better and more likely as well as it is now confirmed to be only 3 parts. He has made a prediction for a long time (as he always assumed it would be 3 parts) that the game won't end with what most people think it will end with (Aerith), but rather it will be a big globe trotting adventure that concludes at the Northern Crater. Party is broken up, members are assumed dead, in prison waiting to be executed, they are basically losing. End there, then Part 3 will be go find out what happened to party members, gear up for the conclusion and massive boss fights/weapons. Starts at the attack at Junon Harbor.

So... I mean... Yeah. His thoughts and ideas there are certainly not that far fetched.

Big question is, will there be PS5 stock around the release? I'm in no hurry to get one but with God of War and the next part of this game makes me wan't to get one. Not paying 10k dorrah for it though.

You can find them a lot easier nowadays, although you still have to look for them. Stuff like Discord that monitor availability and shit makes it pretty easy. I bought 2 last year(one for me and one for my nephew) and while it took a few weeks to get them it wasn't all that bad. With the release being a year+ away, it'd be plenty of time to get one, but whether they're readily available in stores and stuff, don't think so, chip issues were going to be a thing until 2025 or whatever due to how hard it is to open more production sites.

I haven't followed the stock situation at all here in Sweden as I got a good PC right now. But when the PS5 do get some good exclusives I'll probably get one. I can buy a disc version today for like $800-950 at some wierd stores, probably scalped units. But as I don't need one right now I'll start checking for more normal prices untill at least God of War is out. I see no reason to own one right now because everyone seem to use them to play old ps4 games anyway.

This is amusing, considering PS5 could still be a "younger" gen when Part 3 comes out than PS4 was when people were crying about the Yuffie DLC being PS5 only.

If Sony releases a PS5 Pro, there could be a surge of PS5's as ppl trade them in.

What kind of drugs would I have to take to get even 1/10th as excited about anything as Max is about Final Fantasy 7?

I don't think it was drugs, I think it was jerking off every day to FF7 rule 34 porn

Yeah I'm pretty excited about FF7R but I am pretty jealous about people who get that worked up about it. That's what makes those videos fun to watch though, you can feel and even ingest some of their happiness and makes you feel good. It does for me anyway.

Honestly I'd be more inclined to get a PS5 for FFXVI than Rebirth.

I just wish Square was more upfront and clear about exclusivity periods and not taking exclusivity money from everyone. Like for Remake, first they are PS5 exclusive, then when it comes to PC it's Epic Store exclusive. I don't really mind Epic Store but man does it just feels like money grubbing from them.

And 18 months of console exclusivity is bullshit.

I was just saying in general, granted I bought mine largely to play FF7R, but mostly because I started looking into buying one and lucked out getting one and so I did, literally haven't turned it on in over a year as a result though. I do want to play Demon Souls, but it's expensive as fuck and I figured it might come to PC too seeing as how Sony is porting all their shit lately. I'll probably grab FF7R2 and FFXVI though when they release but yeah I don't use consoles much, generally only buy like a dozen of games per generation since like, the PS2 or so.

When is 16 due to release? Thought it was any day now but can't see any dates, did it get delayed?

Exclusivity happens when the console/platform offers a truck full of cash. EGS also doesn't charge engine royalties if the game uses Unreal and releases exclusive to them first. Double dippers buying on Steam later with a longer gap and/or slow PS5 availability factored into it but the decision was entirely the truck full of cash.

It isn't that bad, the first game is a fully fleshed-out game. I got like 70 hours out of it. Just think of it as another game series, just one transpiring in the world of FF7.

Wish we'd get FF10-3 already. They said it was being worked on a few years ago, then nothing. Wonder if it's even still in development. Likely very early if so. Have a feeling FF7R-3, FF10-3, and FF17 are going to be their big three in the latter half of the 2020's. Probably in that order.
How tf did you get 70 hours? I think I had around 40 and did every side quest. I also didn’t feel like I was very good at the game and could’ve went faster. I did not do any trophy type shit though.
