What the fuck? That's overkill.

Give you characters Sadness status and they take 30% less damage.

You just poison it with a Malboro tentacle or something, there's a better way than this.
Fuck that noise, go the other route and give them all hyper. They get limit breaks in 1-2 hits at most. Having everyone's level 3's pretty much right away is entertaining, I loved meteor rain (shower? storm?) and satelite beam

Wait what? Sephiroth was a bunch of clones?
yea if you go back in the timeline of when cloud (as a regular jabroni soldier)/zack/sepiroth visited nibleheim w/ young cowgirl tifa as a guide, cloud buster sword stabbed sepiroth and threw him down the mako stream, and he floated all the way to the north crater and sorta not dead all those years.

everything thing else that is "soldier" related or has been stabbed/injected w/ jenova/sephiroth cells are all just trying to make their way to the north crater to meet up w/ sepiroth (which is why they use "reunion" in the games now)

You have to grind quite a bit for those higher lvl limit breaks. The second limit at each lvl is gained by using the first limit multiple times. Additional levels are gained when that character kills x number of enemies. 120 for lvl 2 and 320 for lvl 3 I think. Lvl 4s are accessible after all 6 other limits are obtained. (I once got meteorain before the first boss in the reactor). It takes a while.

Yeah, limits can be grinded out as early as you want, since they're contingent on # of enemies defeated / # of uses depending on which limit it is.

If one wants all of them early, I find that it's easiest to grind them out once you get to the overworld. Equip the character you want learning things with Matra Magic and use that to one-shot groups of enemies (3-5 is the norm around Midgar) until they get a new limit tier. Then give them a Hyper and grind out getting beaten up and using their limits to unlock the next ones. That last part is the really tedious part. I mean all of this is pretty tedious, but it's also relaxing. I did it while I was leveling up for the Zolom to get Beta.

After about 12 hours of playing (5 hours going through Midgar and 7 grinding outside) I had Beta and all of everyone's limits besides their ultimates. Everyone meaning all the Midgar characters plus Yuffie. Cait Sith doesn't really have anything but I'll have to do this again with Vincent and Cid later on. Though I don't think that'll be an issue because Cloud/Cid/Vincent is usually my main party in the second half of the game anyway. The first half is Cloud/Aerith/Tifa all the way.

In other news, I beat Crisis Core, about to do NG+ for trophy mop-up. I'm confused about Nibelheim. The emails indicate that the Nibelheim townspeople have amnesia, because reporters are going there and asking people what happened and no one remembers anything. Also, after Sephiroth laid waste to the town and Zack did a couple years in a pod, once he got out, the town was completely back to normal like nothing happened.

So did Shinra rebuild all the buildings and replace all the townspeople in Nibelheim with actors? That's...kind of ridiculous.

Not played Crisis Core, but yes that's the story in FF7. Cloud and Tifa visit their childhood homes and the actors say that they never heard of them.

I assume that they just paid a bunch of people to go live normal lives there but lie about their past.

Originally, the people in Nibelheim who weren't killed were rounded up and experimented on. When Shinra rebuilt the town they replaced the residents as part of the cover up.

More likely you are logged out of nexus and can only see the default SFW listings

edit: speaking of, modders are learning how to do transparency now and apparently the purple dress was intended to be sheer see-through.

The vibe with the creepy music and hunched black robed people in random rooms throughout the town was pretty atmospheric back then.

Crisis Core gets into a lot of the Shinra experimentation stuff. I'm guessing these five numbers are some of the hooded guys wandering around Nibelheim.

Oh yeah, I think I forgot to post a shot of this before. Finished the platinum. Very much worth doing, and added about ten hours to the game's runtime. You can do the plat in one playthrough if you follow a missables guide. I didn't, and just mopped up the last few things in a second playthrough, which is what I recommend. NG+ means the second run is quick.

I need to play it. One thing that was clear in Remake is that they obviously increased the number of test subjects and the amount of stuff Hojo was doing in his lab (although a lot of this will probably be used to explain Deepground).

Man I fell off this hard, I got to Aeris escort area and never booted it back up. Couldn’t shake the fact this isn’t the complete game and combat feels clunky no matter who I am playing as.

Speaking of Deepground, I'm wondering what they're doing with Genesis since they added Nero/Weiss to FF7R Intergrade and obviously Crisis Core just got a remake with Genesis all over it.

I always figured Genesis would be the villain of a hypothetical FF7-2, but instead we're getting this odd Frankensteinian remake/sequel hybrid. Seems like there's very little room for Deepground in FF7R when they already have so much else to get to. And unless Sephiroth is gonna turn face and become a playable character (which at this point wouldn't surprise me) there isn't really much room for Genesis either. So I don't know

I mean aren't we harnessing the power by enjoying the mods they make?
