Tifa's voice actress is hot as fuck. Aerith's is cute too.

Good video.

The remake really botched the Barret/Dyne scene. That and Aerith's death being botched are the two glaring "how did they fuck up so badly" moments of Rebirth. Much like how the entire final chapter of Remake was a colossally stupid debacle.

So they basically added Gameshark codes to FF7 Remake's options menu. Jesus. It's bad enough that Square's new HD2D remakes all seem to have a toggle-able invincibility mode, which pretty much kills any need to actually put in any serious work on micromanaging your party. Why bother leveling up and making sure everyone's got a good balance of equipment / stats? Just throw on invincibility every time you fight a boss, who gives a fuck. Why even play games at that point? Just read a book.

I really hate this crap, but I think some of it has a use. Like, I liked the 4x EXP option in the Pixel Remasters of FF. That helps people who don't have time to be grinding in a game like they did in 1995. Turning off encounters is another one that's pretty good.

Where I start having issues is the invincibility horseshit and stuff like that. It's too easy to just turn it on at the slightest sign of frustration, instead of altering your party or strategy, winning on the second go, and feeling good about it.

There are a couple of options here I like. The EXP/AP boosts are good for grinding, and "fast weapon ability acquisition" is cool because the weapon abilities tended to be a bit of a pain in the ass to get due to their specific requirements. "ATB always full" could be fun for experimenting with Tifa's combos and whatnot.

That’s gross

They are single player games , that I assume you paid your money for. What difference does it make how you play it?
Full disclosure, at some point which keeps getting longer and longer as I find things that distract me, I'm going to play the 2nd remake game on my PC and I 100% intend to mod/toggle ways to win all those tedious ass mini-games rather than let them frustrate me like they did on the PS5 I gave away. In fact I stopped playing it on the PS5 because I intend to do it on the PC.

Well this might be better than them remaking the scourge that is Dirge

Been hoping for Dirge to get a modern remake that fixes its problems. It's got a great atmosphere and could be a good game with some tweaks. Really "feels" like FF7 in a way none of the other FF7 spinoffs have. I'm guessing it won't get the Crisis Core treatment though, even if it would make total sense to release it with Vincent debuting in FF7 Part 3.

As for Ever Crisis, I can't even get that game to work. I've tried on multiple phones now and never got past the installation or the start screen. It just lags out or freezes. Always-online DRM doesn't help. Why can't it just be on a console like a normal game? Jesus Christ.

A surprise state of play for Playstation is on Thursday. 1 hour long, so it is a big one. MaximillianDood is fairly sure they will showcase FF7 part 3 there. Draws the connection that the price drop hitting the entire series soon is too early to coincide with the launch of the Switch 2 version. He made the statements before the showcase was known saying something like "If there is no showcase, then yes, it will be at the summer game show, but the price drop would fit far better with a surprise launch of the marketing of Part 3." So he figured that there would be a showcase, and within the week tied to the price drop. Two days later it was announced. (The "I told you" part of the video title was added after the showcase was announced).

Part 2's announcement was paired with the Crisis Core remake at the 25th anniversary event. Square featured a 1 minute cutscene teaser with the information focus being on the dialogue followed by revealing the Rebirth name, the release time frame for PS5, and an announcement that the series would be three games.

So don't expect a 5 minute trailer for Part 3 it would be shorter to name drop the final title, say when in 2027 it releases, and clarify if it is exclusive to the PS5 or simul-releasing on multiple platforms. Summer Game Fest would then get the longer trailer and start the heavy marketing campaign.

edit: we got nothing. Maybe they are aiming for 7/7/2027 and SGF will have a 3 minute trailer.

In terms of CPU, Hamaguchi explained that the team’s philosophy is that if a game runs at 30fps on Switch 2 or Xbox Series S, it should be able to hit 60fps on a higher-end platform. “In other words, we don’t design the game to fully saturate a high-end CPU at 30fps,” he said.

According to Hamaguchi, PS5 and even PS5 Pro are categorised as “mid-range platforms” by the studio, saying: “Compared to high-end PCs, texture sizes may differ by roughly 1.5 to 2 times, mesh loading by 1.5 to 2 times, and polygon counts by more than three times. That’s how big the difference can be.

I felt like there were way too many shitty mini games in the 2nd game of this remake. I only remember the mushroom picking one, infuriating lol

Remake only needed padding because retarded execs thought people gave a shit about Midgar outside of what the original gave us and wanted a whole game based around it. Which ironically lead to rebirth having to make up for lost ground and not needing any padding.
