I don't think the game will be as "open world" as people might think from reading around. Personally I think the statement "Simply pick a location" in mention of how to travel with the Highwind in the trailer means that you can jump of at predetermined locations with some indicator as you fly around showing that you can get off there.

You can fly around everywhere as they said, but like the first segment of Rebirth, the plains, is what, 20% playable compared to the map? And when they show the jump from the Highwind in the trailer, it is over the chocobo racetrack. They might have expanded some areas from Rebirth and around Midgar, but highly doubt the entire world is crafted to play on like in the OG where you can go on small islands, etc.

They did mention being able to jump off at islands, so who knows. I know they said the major limiting factor will be some areas are just too high level for the party at the start of the game. Even "zones" like from Rebirth won't be finish everything there before moving on, some areas will only be unlocked through giving chocobo more traits and/or becoming more powerful to handle higher level stuff there.

I love how in these multiverse things we give 0 F's about the other worlds, although they are meant to be "just as real" as "ours" - Aerith could be from the other world she took the white materia from or whatnot. Multiverse while "cool" and whatever, to me - overall lessens any impact for even "our real" world etc. it just waters down everything.

Absolutely, multiverses shit up everything. The latest Mortal Kombat game has like 20 universes combining so nothing means anything and characters get killed off constantly only to return one scene later. MVs are a crutch for lazy writers and make the audience not care.

This sounds like Rebirth's affinity choices but with more follow up. i.e. Costa beach fight where you pick who to help for an affinity boost - but instead of having a postgame menu option to pick your date Revelation has different cutscenes and/or quests for other party members open up.

Same thing with most big comic brands, DC Marvel Spawn etc. they all introduced MVs. MVs are a ploy to keep milking a cash cow well beyond the expiry date, and diminish the original storyline.

Then lay there as the town-men-folk slowly approach him one at a time to get killed ... I honestly do not know what "effect" they were looking for in that scene

People really forget Crisis Core exists. Of the extensions and “completion” of FF7 it is the best (sans the VERY end)

Zack does everything he wants to accomplish. Is mentored by one of the top 3 (genesis, Steph, Angeal) yet is there first hand seeing the breakdown and corruption and failure of the experiment - one that he is also part of. He fights and fights and wins, yet still has to fight to the point of exhaustion and being overwhelmed by the very people you were created by.

All that then gets blended into Cloud’s retarded brain… and is not helped because Areith sees Zack in cloud and exploits that and essentially screws with cloud- while Tifa is like “bro..” and does not get he is being gaslit by flower whore and the life stream mako dancing around his brain

For the record, the thing in the top left there is Sapphire WEAPON, the one that you don't get to fight because the Junon cannon blasts it into the ocean. Back in 97 I assumed it was Emerald Weapon and that's why it was swimming around down there. Nope. I don't think Emerald and Ruby even existed in the Japanese version. It was Ultima, Diamond, and Sapphire.

Hoping Sapphire WEAPON gets added back in, along with the obvious Omega WEAPON above all of them.

So Jax changed history to eliminate the Atlantic Slave Trade and ended up in a throuple?

The American Dream isn't achievable for folks who look like him? 12 of the last 18 years we had either a black president or a black VP. His kids would have like a 30x easier time getting into Harvard than mine would, with the same test scores.

Mostly I'm just wondering how eliminating the Atlantic Slave Trade would have really done much besides ensure black people were a non-entity in the US until the last few decades with mass migration being so much easier. Africans were still enslaving Africans hand over fist whether the AST existed or not (and still are, in the slave markets of places like Libya).

...nevermind, the writers of this game neither have the answers to these questions, nor do they even know the questions exist.

Adding more cosmetic DLCs makes sense due to the new job system. Staging could possibly be them adding different layouts to the VR things? They said Chadley isn't such a big part anymore, but might be more of a static thing like fixture in the Golden Saucer.

However "FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION Story Expansion Pass" is ... ?

They've previously stated that they'd only make additional content (non cosmetic, not counting extra summons or whatnot like the carbuncle) if the demand was there. However, if they actually add a story expansion to the list available for purchase I assume they'd have to make it. I mean, lots of games do it under season passes for DLC, but can't really see what a story expansion for FF7 would be. There is no way they would exclude anything that's supposed to be in the game as a separate DLC, so it could only be new. Noting the wording "expansion" and not "DLC" also.

Only thing I can think of is extra Zack adventures to add to his worlds story. Where the story of the regular game flows as normal hence nothing is missing from the game. However, until the timelines merge or whatever they will do to combine the "new" parts of the story with the old, they could expand on his story similarly to how the Yuffie DLC happened at the same time as the regular game. Play the regular game, and we see him at time X then again at time Y, but expansion is what happened between then.

Might depend on how they lay out the world map in Revelation, but some of the backstory stuff from Ever Crisis with former lands/people that Shinra basically conquered or got rid of could be added I guess. I'm skeptical how much of the Dirge lore will get included in Revelation (I mean, there's already so much game left to include, how fucking big can it really be?). That could be something they give a bit of content to, but then add more later through DLC if enough people wanted it and they thought the demand was there.
