Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

In this open beta, will characters transfer over to live? or is that something else.

open server so I can make a toon already....in the meantime dota2 I guess

I can't make a character on any North American realms currently. Awesome.

Am I right to leave a majority of my hunting logs for a second/third class?

Looking like LoL for me until it opens up. Been looking at it awhile but it kinda feels good to be in something like this... Probably since Rift.

Is sitting at the world select screen with the refresh button that only lets you do it every 3 mins the best option ? Or is there a better trick to get quicker updates ?

I hope they have a plan for when the floodgates open tomorrow. I'll be at work but will be checking in.

Pretty sure the flood gates opened today. Almost every server is locked down.

I'd imagine there are more people who were in previous beta's who are waiting to get in. The noob areas were packed this afternoon. I imagine it'll be worse tomorrow with more new people and others leveling up other classes.

If you mean the one that would complete rank 2?

My guess is they deliberately left those out so people didn't accidentally "finish" it and all sorts of random fallout from having the rest available for exp vroomvroom later.
