It has been 64 degrees in my office for the past two days. It has been motherfucking gorgeous outside - 60s - to 80 or so; not necessary for the air to run so much. Admin decided there may actually be a problem and "they will look into it" yep, I will believe that when I am not shivering in my dress. We don't have actual control of the thermostat - control is off site in godknowswhere. The HVAC unit has never worked properly and they have spent a fuckton of money trying to repair a piece of shit system. Yes - first world problems but damn my productivity drops when I am frozen; it also makes me a cranky Mrs. G.

Control may be offsite, but the thermometer has to be local. Freeze a bottle of water and prop it right on top of it.

Blowing compressed air on the thermometer or wrapping it in a cold damp towel work too, but not as long.

Now all I have to do is locate that thing. I am not averse to a little sabotage for warmth. :) It is a seriously odd unit we have those "fake" thermostats that read warmer or cooler on them and can adjust like two degrees (it never works either) and we are heat/cooled in zones.

I keep an old CRT monitor under the thermostat in our lab. I had to save this monitor from being recycled about 3 years ago. I managed to hide 3 of them from the GreenStapo, so if it ever dies, I have backups.

Maybe all Mrs G needs to do is find the Random CRT in the office.

Work coffee machine has been replaced by Keurig.

Some slackard kept leaving it on after they killed it, instead of rinsing it out and turning it off when it got low.

Keurig makes not only inferior product, but also work doesn't provide the pods as it did with the grounds.

I wanted to play my daily Pandora radio shuffle and get on with my life

I'm immediately greeted with a confirmation to free trial of Pandora Premium. Having to press an additional button is first world problems enough, but the user interface is different so I'm forced to waste seconds on r acclimation.
Wait.. where the fuck is the shuffle option.
Seriously... Minutes later and still no answer. Minutes!!!

This is 2017. I shouldn't have to Google how to use an interface. People should be expert at setting this shit up by now.

PS: answer is so many hoops that I'm not even going to shuffle

Not necessarily accessible though. You can have remote reading thermostats behind the walls that operate an actuator to supply heating / cooling.

Seems pretty shitty to stuff a thermometer in a wall. They need good airflow to react quickly to temperature changes.

what? What else would you recognize? The doors? The positions?

The best toilet at work has been out of TP since yesterday. I just now had to track down the TP stash and carry it to the bathroom myself.
