It's Zelda but the original Super Mario Brothers box and that entire initial release of games with the pixel covers tickle some very specific memberberries.

I do think that Final Fantasy has some real next level box art given when it came out. The instruction manual was good too and it came with a nice map.

While I played the original gold cartridge Zelda for hours on end, this was actually the best Zelda game of my childhood:

Original box art for Zelda, and Punch Out for that matter, were pixel like other NES games of the time. Betcha didn't know...

Its sad that some of the game art changed when things were transferred to North America.

Saw this on reddit and thought it was pretty interesting topic. What is the most iconic cover for you?

Zelda. That game. I didn’t really like video games before that. My grandmother always played 2600 but it was just never got me except maybe pitfall and adventure. But when she got her nes. Then got zelda. Oh yeah. Final Fantasy would be number 2. Then Metroid. Tetris is up there too. She and I would play that for hours.

I still remember he calling SMB3 Bowser a shitass at like 2am in our basement. She’s about to hit 83. Can barely see. Plays some version of Hexic a lot still since she can see it. Rest is too fast and hard to see. She visited and watched some WoW back in the day. Amazed her how far it had come. She was still playing NES and SNES though.

I still have this game in my closet.
