Dont get that feeling too often with computer hardware. Love it when I do, though. Feels like it was worth it for once.
I have a LG oled as well hooked up so I alternate if I want 4k 120 FPS for stuff but I’ve grown accustomed to the 240 1440 resolution:

Ended up ordering an Alienware AW2724. Based on the RTing’s reviews, it looks like it’s pretty much the same panel as the Dell that was linked a page back, and Alienware’s clearing them out at $199 right now.

Good monitor; I have the similar AW2723DF. Only major nitpick for me was that the monitor has some kind of issue with Nvidia drivers where if both G-sync and 240hz refresh are enabled, the monitor intermittently black screens after booting into Windows. Totally powering the monitor off and back on fixes it, but it's kind of annoying. Seems? to have finally been fixed with the most recent iteration of NV drivers, but it took over a year.

I saw an Odyssey over at a guys house last weekend. First time seeing one in person and I was thinking about going that direction this year but now am not so sure. It is nice but the curve is so aggressive and with the extra length it looks so narrow height wise.

Currently using the 34” version of the above, the AW3423DW from two years ago and it is spectacular. But thinking about moving that to my work desk and replacing the gaming machine with something bigger.

Yea I went with a 42 LG C4 for that reason. The ark is funny but really aggressive curve and the specs don't align with the price yet. If they do a gen3 and fix some of the problems I imagine I'd still wait it out until there was some steep discounts.

Monitor came in yesterday. It’s a massive upgrade over my old ASUS VG248’s. It definitely had a green tint to it out of the box, but it looks great now with some calibration tweaks and the RTing’s ICC profile.

Did you have any issue loading the RTing ICC? I remember trying to do that on my Alienware one last year but the Windows profile manager thing was not intuitive and I couldn’t get it to load or save, some roadblock. Just remember giving up after 10 minutes and saying whatever.

The profile manager was a little wonky, but I just followed the guide and it loaded and saved without much issue.

Just bought a 42" LG C4 from BestBuy. They're still $699 at the moment.

Grabbed an Alienware 32-inch OLED on sale. AW3225QF. $850.

First monitor I have ever owned that was ready to go and perfectly calibrated out of the box. No fiddling with the monitor, no fiddling with the OS. Plop & Plug Easy™.

This one has a slight curve to it which I like. It fits right into my field of vision perfectly. The 32 it replaced didn't quite fit.

The HDR/Windows/Games stuff works really well so far. This panel is rated low on the nits scale...but OLED doesn't need huge brightness to work. My other panel was set to 50034981 nits and I had to run it that high to get an image out of the fucking thing. This is a calm and relaxed viewing experience that I noticed within 2 minutes of playing Borderlands 4. The usual blacks being very black doesn't take long to get used to. It has the side effect of making things easy to focus on...less eye strain. Not having 3509247593843485704579847509824753874 photons blasted into my skull every nanosecond is a nice change.

Colors are bang on. This is a low latency monitor which I noticed right away playing BL4.

All these years of using computers and FINALLY got a decent monitor.

I have a previous, non-OLED model of the same line of monitors - arguably the best single computing purchase I've ever made regarding entertainment. Absolutely phenomenal; picked up mine right when Cyberpunk 2077 released and it was absolute bliss.
